<br />In the matter of the Bids for the improvement of Garden Lane from the
<br />north line of Dogwood Drive to 201 north of the south line of Sample Street, in accord-
<br />ance with Improvement Resolution No. 2587, 1949, passed by this Board on May 23, 1949.
<br />We hereby report that we have examined the several Bids submitted to the Board on $Mane 8
<br />1949 and find that the Reed Construction Co., Mishawaka, Indiana has the lowest and best
<br />bid for Class t'Ct' Type 1, Portland Cement Concrete Pavement and that the Rieth Riley
<br />Construction Co., South Bend, Indiana has the lowest and best bid for Class ttC", Type 4,
<br />Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous Concrete Surface Pavement.
<br />We recommend that the kind of Pavement placed on the above Street be
<br />Class "C", Type 4, Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous Concrete Surface.

<br />Whereas, The Board of Public Works and Safety pursuant to its notice to
<br />do so, met on the 8th day of June, 1949, at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A. M. C. S. T.
<br />and publicly opened and considered all bids for the improvement of Garden Lane from the
<br />North line of Dogwood Drive to the 20' North of South line of Sample Street, in accord-
<br />ance with Improvement Resolution No. 2587, 1949, passed by this Board on May 23, 1949.
<br />Therefore, Be it Resolved that the roadwgy of said street be improved by
<br />paving with Class "C" Type 4, Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous Concrete Surface.
