<br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 25751 1948
<br />October 11, 1948
<br />Whereas, the Board of Public Works, did on the 28._ day of September 1948, adopt a
<br />Preliminary Order designating Class C. Type 1, Portland Cement Concrete as the kind of
<br />Pavement for the improvement of Twenty-fifth (25th) Street from North line of i-isha.waka
<br />• Avenue to the South Property line of Lots "A" and "B" in Hastings, Woodward and Gray
<br />Addition in accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2575 1948, passed by this Board
<br />on September 2, 1948.
<br />Be It Resolved, By the Board of Public Works and Safety, that the Preliminary Order
<br />is hereby, in all things confirmed and said street ordered paved with Class C, Type 1
<br />Portland Cement Concrete.

<br />Board of Public Works and Safety decides that the bid of the

<br />Therefore Be It Resolved, By the Board of Public 1,1orks and Safety of the City of
<br />South Bend, Indiana that the bid of the Reed Construction Company for the construction
<br />of the improvement described in Improvement Resolution No. 2575 1948, passed by this
<br />Board on September 2, 1948 be and the same is hereby adopted and that the City of South
<br />Bend, Indiana, thru its Mayor and Board of Public Works and Safety enter into a written
<br />contract with said Reed Construction Company for the faithful execution of such work,
<br />according to.said,bid, the detailed plans and specifications and the terms of said Res-
<br />olution, provided that before entering upon the performance of said contract, said Reed
<br />Construction Company shall give,bond, in the amount equal to one hundred (100) per cent
<br />of the contract price for such work, with a. surety Company legally authorized to`transac
<br />• business in the State of Indiana, as Surety, to the approval of this Board, to secure
<br />the performance of such contract, and shall give a Maintenance Bond in the amount equal
<br />to fifty (50) per cent of the contract price for such work' with a Surety Company legall
<br />authorized to transact business in the State of Indiana, as Surety, to the approval of
<br />this Board to warrant and guarantee the work, material and condition of the pavement for
<br />a period of three (3) years, and to hold the City of South Bend, Indiana, harmless from
<br />payment of any debt or damage by reason of any act of such Contractor, and to secure
<br />i the paymeht of all claims for labor and material used in such improvement.
