All members <br />were present. <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. Co. <br />.68 <br />Mirror Press <br />7.56 <br />Mirrpr Press <br />9.50 <br />TRAFFIC DEPART1-•4ENT: Mr. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters per- <br />taining to his department were discussed. <br />BOARD OF WORKS: The Clerk <br />of the Board was directed to get letter <br />bids from three <br />reputable dealers for an air conditioner <br />for the Mayor's office. <br />, <br />ENGINEL'RING D.EPARTIIENT: Excavation bonds <br />wera approved and ordered <br />filed for Percival <br />Haines d/b/a Haines & Haines, and Fred Spromberg. <br />Contractor's bonds were approved and <br />ordered filed for H. G. <br />Christman Company <br />and John C. Benjamin. <br />A petition to pave an <br />alley between <br />Michigan and Main Streets <br />from Indiana Avenue <br />to Dayton Street was referred to the City <br />Engineer. <br />A petition was received from the City Housing Corporation asking for the vacation <br />of Iowa Street between Ford Street and Dunham Street. This was referred to the City <br />Engineer for investigation. <br />Vacation Resolution No. 2563 <br />This being the date set, hearing was had on the assessment roll showing the award <br />of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of vacation of the first alley <br />North of Elwood Avenue from Illinois Street to Chicago Street and the first alley North <br />of Lincoln Way West from Chicago Street to Sheridan Avenue under Vacation Resolution <br />No. 2563. <br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written <br />remonstrances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of <br />notices and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several <br />;! lots and parcels of land have been benefitted and damaged in the amounts shown'on said <br />!;roll. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said assessment roll and <br />declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and <br />the proceedings closed, and the alleys vacated upon receipt of the amount of benefit <br />ii assessments from the various property owners so benefitted and all proceedings had with <br />reference to said alleys vacated are hereby sustained. <br />Vacation Resolution No. 2564 <br />This being the date set, hearing was had on,the assessment roll showing the award <br />j of damages and the assessment of benefits in the.matter matter of the vacation of the first <br />j�a.11ey,East of Vernon Street from Dubail Avenue Guth to Dayton Street under Vacation <br />�i Resolution No. 2564. <br />j In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written <br />jl remonstrances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of <br />notices and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several <br />i lots and parcels of land have been benefitted and damaged in the amountsshown on said <br />roll.
