Solar PV Expansion Savings <br />Assumptions <br />The NREL intemct-based program "PVWatts" (http://pvwatts.nrel.gov/pvwatts.php) is used to determine hourly system <br />output for Boulder, Colorado. <br />PVWatts assumes that the photovoltaic cells are crystalline silicon. <br />The AC power output is assumed to be 85% of the nameplate DC power rating. This includes a 5% derate factor for <br />lifetime cell degradation. <br />Excess power can be sold back to the utility at the retail rate. <br />A.
