361 0 11 • ,Three letter bids having been received for an air compressor for, the Street Depart- ment,i they were opened and read as follows: Coffi-eld Company 1 10 ft. air compressor s400.,00 lCoffield Company 1 7 Cu.f't, Air Compressor 3�8.00 I National Mill Supply 1 7 cu. ,ft. aircompressor 341.00 I The bid of the National Mill Supply Company was, accepted, CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertain - ling to his department were discussed. v Mr. Leszczynski informed the Board that the fence at the City Cemetery was in very ,poor condition, and the Board decided to investigate conditiong before taking any action. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned fat 10:00 A.M. !ATTEST: March 11, 1948 A special meeting of the -Board of Public T.:orks was held on Thursday, March 11, 1948 at 10:30 A.M. All members were present. The Board met for the purpose of discussing taxi -cab stands petitioned for by The Veterans Cab Company and the A & A Flash Cabs. It was agreed to direct Mr. -Ernest Miller to establish a two cab stand at the Northwest corner of Colfax and Michigan Streets, on Colfax Avenue, to be allotted to the A & A Flash Cab Company and also a two cab stand on South Main Street directly 'I in front of 114 South Main Street for the Veterans Cab Company. These stands were allotted on a temporary basis only. BUSSES: A letter was sent to the Northern Indiana Transit, Inc. requesting them to comply promptly with the recommendations contained in a report dated February 12, 1948 made by Ernest H. Miller and Leslie Williams with reference to the routing of busses. '! STREET,DEPARTI-,INT: The bid of Simon Brothers was accepted for rock salt for the Street i Department. ATTEST: Clerk March 15, 1948 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, March 15, 1948 at 9:30 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Salary claims in the amount of $14,842.02 were approved and ordered paid.
