<br />asking for the vacation of the

<br />Sheridan Street
<br />to Illinois Street. This was referred
<br />to Mayor;Schock for approval.
<br />A letter was,received from the City Plan Commission indicating that they approve
<br />the vacation of a part of the East and West alley extending from the East line of South
<br />Carroll Street to the,West line of the North and South alley extending between the
<br />right-of-way of the Grand Trunk Railroad and East Monroe Street and also that part of t:
<br />East and blest alley extending from the West line of South Columbia Street to the East
<br />line of the North and South alley extending between the right-of-way of the Grand Trunk
<br />Railroad and East Monroe Street, and the Engineering Department was directed to prepare
<br />a vacation resolut,Lon to cover same.
<br />A letter was received from the City Plan Commission indicating that they approve
<br />the vacation of the alley South of Frederickson Street from Johnson Street to the first
<br />alley West of Johnson Street and,the Engineering Department was directed to prepare
<br />a vacation resolution to cover same.

<br />WHEREAS,,a plat with dedication of streets and alleys indicated thereon, previous-
<br />ly accepted by the City of South Bend, to be known as Section "D" (Supplemental Plat)
<br />of Belle Village, an Addition to the City of South Bend, Indiana;
<br />This plat and dedication is filed in the records of the Board��of Public corks and
<br />Safety in Row #21, Drawer #4 and recorded in Plat Book #17 Page B in the Recorder's
<br />office of St. Joseph County;
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works and Safety of South
<br />Bend, Indiana, that all public streets, alleys and,public places and utility easements
<br />are approved by said Board by and on behalf of the City of South Bend, Indiana.

<br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Melton 0. Brannan, Street Commissioner, was present and matters
<br />pertaining to his department were discussed.
<br />Upon the Commissioner's recommendation the Board decided to deputize the foremen
<br />in the Street Department to allow them to,be,able to make arrests when people are
<br />caught dumping refuse and rubbish on the city streets.
