324 <br />September 2, 1947 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public 01orks was held on Tuesday, September 2, <br />1947 at 8.:30 A,M. Mr. Cummings was absent. TIinutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. Rider of the U. S, Gypsum Company and Trlr. Fish of the Crane Company were <br />present at the meeting to discuss their proposed plans for off street loading and un- <br />loading of trucks. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: A Contractor's bond in the amount of ?l,000.00 was approved <br />and ordered filed for Roy Toney. <br />An Excavation bond was approved and ordered filed for the Northern Indiana Public <br />Service Company. <br />Contract #6 presented by Consoer, Townsend and Associates for the interceptor <br />sewers and treatment plant was approved by the Board.. <br />George A. Beamer, representing Gaseteria, Incorporated, was present to submit <br />plans for 2 6000 gallon storage tanks and 1 1000 gallon kerosene tank and 1 550 gallon <br />alcohol tank to be construction at the northwest corner of Indiana Avenue and Michigan <br />Street. The roard approved the plans only in respect to the storage tanks. <br />CD <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: T1r. Casimer Balka, Street Commissioner, was present and matters <br />pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />A petition was received asking for the improvement of 30th Street North of the <br />Grand Trunk Railroad crossing by oiling or black topping same.
