<br />After tabulating the bids received at the last meeting, the award for,road
<br />toil was made to the Standard Oil Company it being, in the Board1s opinion, the
<br />11 lowest and best bid received.
<br />1 The bid for crushed stone from the France Stone Company was rejected because
<br />i!it contained an escalator clause and the.Clerk of the Board was authorized to exe
<br />j cute a contract for crused stone to be used in the street department, on the op Mx
<br />rmarket,
<br />Il The Street Commissioner informed the Board that he was in naed of a distribu-
<br />tor, a grader and a one-half ton pickup truck. The Board instructed him to draw
<br />up specifications, and directed the Clerk of the.Board to advertise for bids to be
<br />returnable on the 17th day of March, 1947.

<br />I; TAXI -CABS Mr, Vernon L. Rans, Taxi -cab driver, came.:before the Board to appeal
<br />e eczsion of the Board not to recommend the issuance of a taxi -cab drivers
<br />license to him. The Board discussed the case further but found no reason to
<br />reverse their decision.
<br />The Board reviewed the cases of Joseph L. Binder and Charles Benedict and
<br />recommended the issuance of tax -cab drivers licenses to them.
