21 <br />0 <br />.7 <br />L` <br />TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Kopper of the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company was present <br />at the meeting to.inquire about comments on the new traffic lighting at the intersection <br />of Lincoln Way East and Jefferson Boulevard. The matter of billing for the new traffic <br />signal arrangement was also discussed. Mr. Kopper indicated that meters could be in- <br />stalled to register the actual current used and they could bill us accordingly. Mr. <br />Miller was authorized to arrange for a meeting With State Highway Officials for the <br />discussion of this problem, the State having an interest in the traffic control signals. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: -A communication from the City Clerk's office pertaining tothe <br />ordinance prow d ng for the licensing classifying of heating and ventilating contractors <br />was -referred to the Building Department for further study. <br />The communication also contained a petition asking for the rezoning of alive <br />Street from Washington Street to the Grand Trunk Railroad, in order to make it a boule- <br />vards was referred to the City Plann Commission for further study. <br />This being the date set bids were received for one half -ton pick up truck and were <br />opened and read as follows: <br />L. 0. Gates <br />Chevrolet Co. <br />One 1945 Chevrolet one-half ton <br />Mishawaka, <br />Indiana <br />pick up truck <br />$948.00 <br />Less trade in allowance <br />158.00 <br />790.00 <br />L. 0. Gates <br />Chevrolet Co. <br />One 1945 Chevrolet one-half ton <br />South Bend, <br />Indiana <br />pick up truck <br />$948.00 <br />Less trade in allowance <br />150.00 <br />The bid was awarded to the L. G. Gates Chevrolet Company of Mishawaka, it being in the <br />Board's opinion the lowest and best bid. <br />Vacation Resolution No. 2537 <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award <br />of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of vacation of the alley South <br />of -Pleasant Street From 25th Street to the East line of the alley West of 25th Street <br />under vacation resolution No. 2537. <br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written re- <br />monstrances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notices <br />and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several lots <br />and parcels of land have been benefited and damaged in the amounts shown on said rolls. <br />The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said assessment roll and declares <br />same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and the pro- <br />ceedings closed and the alley vacated, upon receipt of the amount of benefits assessed <br />from the various property owners so benefited and all proceedings had with reference to s i( <br />alley vacation are hereby sustained. jl <br />Vacation Resolution No. 2538 <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award <br />�1of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of the second <br />Talley West of Twyckenham Drive from Monroe Street to South Street under vacation resol- <br />ution No. 2538. <br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written re- <br />. monstranees were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notices <br />nij and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several lots <br />and parcels of land have been benefited and damaged in the amounts diown on said roll. <br />The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said assessment roll and declares <br />same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and the pro- <br />ceedings closed and the alley vacated, upon receipt of the amount of benefits assessed <br />from the various property owners so benefited and all proceedings had with reference to <br />jsaid alley vacation are hereby sustained. <br />i <br />jl STREET DEPARTMENT: Matters pertaining to the Street Department were discussed by the <br />Board. <br />CEMETERY DEWTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszezynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining <br />to his department were discussed. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 11:00 A.M. <br />0 <br />
