21 0 .7 L` TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Kopper of the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company was present at the meeting to.inquire about comments on the new traffic lighting at the intersection of Lincoln Way East and Jefferson Boulevard. The matter of billing for the new traffic signal arrangement was also discussed. Mr. Kopper indicated that meters could be in- stalled to register the actual current used and they could bill us accordingly. Mr. Miller was authorized to arrange for a meeting With State Highway Officials for the discussion of this problem, the State having an interest in the traffic control signals. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: -A communication from the City Clerk's office pertaining tothe ordinance prow d ng for the licensing classifying of heating and ventilating contractors was -referred to the Building Department for further study. The communication also contained a petition asking for the rezoning of alive Street from Washington Street to the Grand Trunk Railroad, in order to make it a boule- vards was referred to the City Plann Commission for further study. This being the date set bids were received for one half -ton pick up truck and were opened and read as follows: L. 0. Gates Chevrolet Co. One 1945 Chevrolet one-half ton Mishawaka, Indiana pick up truck $948.00 Less trade in allowance 158.00 790.00 L. 0. Gates Chevrolet Co. One 1945 Chevrolet one-half ton South Bend, Indiana pick up truck $948.00 Less trade in allowance 150.00 The bid was awarded to the L. G. Gates Chevrolet Company of Mishawaka, it being in the Board's opinion the lowest and best bid. Vacation Resolution No. 2537 This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of vacation of the alley South of -Pleasant Street From 25th Street to the East line of the alley West of 25th Street under vacation resolution No. 2537. In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written re- monstrances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notices and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several lots and parcels of land have been benefited and damaged in the amounts shown on said rolls. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said assessment roll and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and the pro- ceedings closed and the alley vacated, upon receipt of the amount of benefits assessed from the various property owners so benefited and all proceedings had with reference to s i( alley vacation are hereby sustained. jl Vacation Resolution No. 2538 This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award �1of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of the second Talley West of Twyckenham Drive from Monroe Street to South Street under vacation resol- ution No. 2538.
