207 <br />TRAFFIC DEP.LRTIVIENT: Mr. Ernest 1.1iller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters per- <br />taining to his department ,Jere discussed. <br />iENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: A Contractor's bond in the amount of 4h1,000.00 was approved <br />�ifor H. G. Christman Construction Company and was ordered filed. <br />Upon motion being duly made and seconded the following resolution was unanimously <br />adopted: RESOLVED* The lialnut Road Housing Project having requested the hoard of <br />i Public 'dorks and Safety t o assume Jurisdiction over twenty-sixth, Twenty-seventh and <br />• Twenty-ninth Streets in the above project, and the Board having made certain recommenda- <br />tions as to the repair of the pavement on these streets, prior to their acceptance, and <br />these recommendations haveing been complied with; the Board of Public 'Works, and Safety <br />1upon motion made, seconded and carried; nereblT.assumes, jurisdiction and maintenance <br />11 of these streets, and authorizes the Engineeeing Department to prepare a dedication <br />(1plan and enter the dedication in the records of St. Joseph County. <br />W <br />is <br />The Board approved the Vacation Resolution of the second alley :lest of Twybkenham <br />Drive from Monrce Street to South Street and also the vacation of the alley South of <br />Pleasant Street from Twenty-fifth Street to the east line of the alley ydest of Twenty- <br />fifth Street. The advertising of same was held up, however, until the required amount <br />of money has been deposited with the Clerk of the Board for advertising the hearings. <br />The, Board approved an assignment of contract for the installation of sewers on <br />Tasher and Jennings Avenues and St. Joseph Street from idhitcomb & Keller, Incorporated <br />to Rocco Simeri. Also to extend the time of completion to -December 1, 1945. <br />STREET DEPAR111ENT: IVr. Anthony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner, was present and matters <br />pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />CEIr12_:TL'RY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, presented his report for the mont <br />of June., 1945. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 11:300 A.71,% <br />July 9, 1945 <br />Ij A regular meeting of <br />the Board of Public <br />Works was held on T?onday, July.9,, <br />1945 <br />• !at 9:00 A.T,I. '."+Iegenka and was ordered filed. <br />The Engineering Department reported on their investigation and review of plans of <br />• the precast concrete manhole manufactured by the LaMar Pipe and `.Pile Company of Grand <br />IRapids, 1lichigan. The Niles Excavating Company requested permission to use this type <br />of construction on the Tasher avenue and Jennings avenue sewers. Permission is hereby <br />granted to use this type of construction on the above mentioned streets and the Engineer - <br />ling Department is instructed to notify the Contractor accordingly.
