Engineer, was present and°matters per- Mr. Waterson of the Northern Indiana Transit Company was present at the meeting and presented a letter from the Southwest Property Owners. Association asking for a change in the bus route,in that direction. This,was referred to the Traffic Engineer for investigation and report. This being the date set for receiving bids for the installation of part of the traffic signal systems of down town South Bend, and only one bid 'having been received; said bid was opened and read as follows: Doody Electric Company, 626 West Jackson Blvd., Total bid 12,436.60 Chicago, Illinois This bid was referred to the Traffic Engineer for investigation and comparison fora check of the individual items, and the award will be granted at a later meeting. STREET DEPARTIMENT: Mr. Anthony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner, was present and m.atte-rs pertaining to his department were discussed. Bids were received last week and shown in the minutes of the Board for a sweeper of a type specified in specifications , and after consideting the bids received, the Board determines to purchase one Guttersnipe Sweeper from the Municipal Supply Company of South Bend at $3380.00, and one Payloader tractor shovel, from the Indiana Equipment Company of Indianapolis, Indiana at 04436.00. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT : A Contractorts Bond in the amount of $1,000.00 was approved' for DeweySkeeters , and was ordered filed i ExcavatorTs bonds in the amount of�$11000.00 each were filed for Mitchel Kahn, C.'J. Shoemaker, Philip Cohn, Emil C. Spromberg, Louis Moll Company, Emmett Shaul, Albert 1_1., Smith and Son and Hawblitzel Plumbing Company. These were ordered filed. A petition was received asking for the vacation of the alley lying between Frances Street and Eddy Street From Washington Street to the North line of the alley running east and west between Frances Street and Eddy Street and was referred to the City Plan Commission for approval. A petition was received akking for the Place to Ressler Boulevard, and was. referred vacation of Beale Street from Inglewood to the City Plan Commission for approval. • C] �J • • • -0
