Permission was granted to his request provided the banner is hung by a licensed and bonded Sign Company. . MELTING - NOVEMBER 81 1943 I A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, November 8, 1943 at 9:00 A.M. All members were present. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: This being the date set for opening the bids received for the construction of one local sewer on Duey Street from South Bend Avenue north to. the North line of Hartman and Millers .Addition and Hartman and Woodworths Addition, !i and it now being 10:30 and only one bid being received, said bid was opened and read by Mr. _'will'iams, Bid was from South Bynd Builders, Inc., and was accompanied by a If bid bond check for $249.00 and a non -collusion affidavit. The bid is as follows: Bid to furnish all material and labor necessary to complete the sewer work,on Duey Avenue according to the plans and specifications prepared by the L'ity Emgineer and ii now on file in the office of Board of Public works and Safety for -the sum of Twenty Four Hundred Ninety Dollars. The bid was awarded to the South,Bend.Builders �I Inc. and a "contract, is being prepared. • I� Contractor's bonds were approved for Millard T. Hartman and Bernhard T. Johnson. These were ordered filed. The Board acknowledged receipt of a resolution passed by the State Highway Comm - fission on October 27, 1943 establishing a loading zone for the Peerless Supply Company. on .Western Avenue. A petition was received asking that the 14 foot alley between lots 132 and 133 of the original plat of the City of South Bend, from the alley East of Michigan Street to the "Nest line of vacated North St. Joseph ,Street be vacated. This was now turned over to the City Plan Commission for investigation and report. • A document was received from the First Bank and Trust Company proposing to p y P P g I dedicate a strip of land 16 feet in width taken off of and from the entire North side of lot 132 of the original plat of the City of South .Bend.
