Permission was granted to his request provided the banner is hung by a licensed and bonded Sign Company. �! MEETING - NOVEMBER 8, 1943 i A regular meeting of the Board of Public 'Works was held on Monday, November 81 1943 at 9:00 A.M. All members•were present. Co. 1.50 West Side Hardware Co. 148.80 STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr Anthony, Zmudzi nski, Street 'Commissioner.. was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. j ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: This being the date set for opening the bids received for II the construction of one local sewer on Duey Street from South Bend Avenue north to it the North line of Hartman and Millers Addition and Hartman and Woodworths Addition, li and it now being 10:30 and only one bid being received, said bid was opened and read �+ by Mr. 'Williams. Bid was from South Bynd Builders, Inc., and was accompanied by a bid bond check for $249.00 and a non -collusion affidavit. The bid is as follows: �l Bid to furnish,all material and labor necessary to complete the sewer work.on Duey Ii Avenue according to the plans and specifications prepared by the �'ity Engineer and �i now on file in the office of Board of Public works and Safety for the sum of I� Twenty Four Hundred Ninety Dollars. The bid was awarded to the South,Bend.Builders Inc. and a "contract, is being prepared. Contractors bonds were approved for Millard T. Hartman and Bernhard T. Johnson. These were ordered filed. I The Board acknowledged receipt of a resolution passed by the State Highway Comm- ission on October 27,, 1943 establishing a loading zone for the Peerless Supply Company on_Western Avenue. A petition was received asking that the 14 foot alley between lots 132 and 133 of the original plat of the City of South Bend, from the alley East of Ialichigan Street to the "Nest line of vacated North St. Joseph Street be vacated. This was now turned ii over to the City Plan Commission for investigation and report. • �i A document was received froze the First Bank and Trust Company proposing to jj dedicate a strip of land 16 feet in width taken off of and from the entire North side of lot 132 of the original plat of the City of South Bend. This was now turned over to the City Plan Commission for approval. This was referred to Mr. Miller, Traffic Engineer. I) I;
