1`7 <br />MEETING - NOVEVIBER 11 1943 <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned at lo.*:3' 0 .A.IVI. <br />ATTEST : <br />er <br />ADDENDA: <br />Mr. Leon Mathews requested permission of the Board to hang a banner across Michigan <br />Street for the Community Fund. Permission was granted to his request provided the <br />banner is hung by a licensed and bonded Sign Company. <br />�! MEETING - NOVEMBER 8, 1943 <br />i <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public 'Works was held on Monday, November 81 <br />1943 at 9:00 A.M. All members•were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read <br />and approved. Co. 1.50 West Side Hardware Co. 148.80 <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr Anthony, Zmudzi nski, Street 'Commissioner.. was present and <br />matters pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />j ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: This being the date set for opening the bids received for <br />II the construction of one local sewer on Duey Street from South Bend Avenue north to <br />it the North line of Hartman and Millers Addition and Hartman and Woodworths Addition, <br />li and it now being 10:30 and only one bid being received, said bid was opened and read <br />�+ by Mr. 'Williams. Bid was from South Bynd Builders, Inc., and was accompanied by a <br />bid bond check for $249.00 and a non -collusion affidavit. The bid is as follows: <br />�l Bid to furnish,all material and labor necessary to complete the sewer work.on Duey <br />Ii Avenue according to the plans and specifications prepared by the �'ity Engineer and <br />�i now on file in the office of Board of Public works and Safety for the sum of <br />I� Twenty Four Hundred Ninety Dollars. The bid was awarded to the South,Bend.Builders <br />Inc. and a "contract, is being prepared. <br />Contractors bonds were approved for Millard T. Hartman and Bernhard T. Johnson. <br />These were ordered filed. <br />I The Board acknowledged receipt of a resolution passed by the State Highway Comm- <br />ission on October 27,, 1943 establishing a loading zone for the Peerless Supply Company <br />on_Western Avenue. <br />A petition was received asking that the 14 foot alley between lots 132 and 133 <br />of the original plat of the City of South Bend, from the alley East of Ialichigan Street <br />to the "Nest line of vacated North St. Joseph Street be vacated. This was now turned <br />ii over to the City Plan Commission for investigation and report. <br />• �i A document was received froze the First Bank and Trust Company proposing to <br />jj dedicate a strip of land 16 feet in width taken off of and from the entire North side <br />of lot 132 of the original plat of the City of South Bend. This was now turned over <br />to the City Plan Commission for approval.
