Williams, City Civil Engineer <br />A few months ago officials of the Belleville Lumber Company appeared before the Board <br />• and requested the Board to accept certain streets in Bercliff Addition for maintenance <br />under present conditions. The request was made because agreement with the F.H.A. requir s <br />�I pavement and it is ilpossible at this time to obtain paving materials. <br />A recent inspection was made of the unpaved portion of Timber Lane and also 0akcrest <br />Drive from, Timber Lane to 35th Street. A profile was requested to determine if these <br />streets have been graded to the grade established by this Board. The streets have been <br />graded approximately to the established grade, and bank run gravel has been installed <br />approxiinately 20 feet in width and 6 inches in depth on or near the center line of these <br />streets. <br />• Even though this gravel is not exactly to grade, it being as muchas one foot below grad <br />in some places, the Engineering Department recommends that it be accepted for maintenanc <br />The remainder of the roadway section is in satisfactory condition. If and when resur- <br />facing material is available, it will the to bring the final grade to its proper elevation. <br />jThis was approved by the Board and ordered filed. <br />0 <br />• <br />• <br />0 <br />T.ir. Perkins, one of the Trustees of the Bowman Cemetary, came before the Board <br />to request that the City take over the operation of the Cernetary. The Board took this <br />advisement, and it was suggested that liulr. Tony Zmudzir_ski, Street Commissioner was present at the meeting <br />and matters pertaining, to his department were discussed. <br />Mr. Zmudzinski turned over to the Board �"9.00 for the use of the grader and ��2.00 <br />from the sale of junk. <br />The Board 'having approved the specifications for one new or used power driven <br />CD <br />street sweeper, as prepared and submitted by the Engineering Department, the Clerk <br />is hereby authorized to advertise for bids to be received in the office of the Board <br />of Public lNorks and Safety until 10:00 A.i,I. June 21, 1943, at which time they will be <br />publicly opened and read. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: Mr. Ernest Miller, traffic Engineer, was present at the meeting and <br />matters pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />
