33 MEETING -- OCTOBER 14, 1941 ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: The Board approved the grade as established for Timber Lane, as per drawings submitted by the Engineering Department. DEDICATION WHEREAS, a plat with dedication of streets and alleys indicated thereon, is now presented Ito the Board, to be known as Poplar Subdivision. i This plat and dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public Works and Safety I in 'Row #21, Drawer #4, File # and recorded in Book #2=; Page trPrr, in the Recorder's ;Office of St. Joseph County. SNOW.. THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of South Bend, Indiana, that all public streets, alleys and public places dedicated to the public use .in said plat, are hereby accepted and approved by said Board for and on behalf of the �City of South Bend, Indiana. !(ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: Pair. walls, Superintendent, reported that the following lights have been ordered installed. lLight at the intersection of Gladstone and Ford Streets, Donald and Hoke Streets and • North Side Blvd., and 27th Street. Williams (Stamps) 20.00 • STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Zmudzinski presented the sweeper report for the week beginning October 13, 1941. 1 ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: A contractor's bond for Charles 1. Aulm was received and approv The City Engineer was instructed to obtain bids for sidewalk and curb on Maple Street from Western Avenue north to Thomas St., and for surb on Meade Street from. the alley north of Jefferson St., to the alley south of Jefferson St, Mr. Samuel Crumpacker, Attorney for the Grand Trunk Ry. Co., appeared before the Board stating that he had had correspondence from the General Manager of the Grand Trunk Ry. Co., relative to the opening of 30th and 32nd Streets across their tracks, and that he was submitting to the general manager, additional information. ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: A petition was received, asking for a street light at the inter- section of City Hall Court and Colfax Avenue. This petition was turned over to Mr. Qualls for investigation and report. A street light at the intersection of Indiana Avenue and Leer Street was ordered installed upon the reco=, endation of Mr. Qualls. ' Mr. Qualls was requested to submit recommendations for lights on the Jefferson Street Housing Project,_ to the Board. TRAFFIC COMMISSTON: Mr. Kappelman, Mr. Kromenson, representatives of the Gold Bond Stor ') and Mr. Percy Walsh, realttor appeared before the Board regarding the loading and un- liloading of trucks for th Gold Bond store on Colfax Ave. Mr. Williams, after an investigation, was requested to make a study of the carrying capacity of that part of +I the bridge.
