RESOLUTION NO. RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,INDIANA,APPROVING LEASE OF COMMUNITY ROOM LOCATED AT 211 SOUTH ST. PETER STREET, SOUTH BEND,IN 46617. WHEREAS,the City of South Bend("City"),through its Board of Park Commissioners wishes to execute a lease of a community room located at 211 South St. Peter Street, South Bend, IN 46617, South Bend, IN 46617 ("Property") owned by Zion United Church of Christ("Landlord"); and WHEREAS,the City requires the temporary use of a community room for senior citizen activities during the construction of the senior center at Howard Park; and WHEREAS, the monthly rent shall be $100.00; and WHEREAS,the proposed lease shall remain in effect until March 31, 2019; and WHEREAS,the Board of Parks Commissioners held a public hearing with respect to the appropriateness of the proposed lease at its May 15, 2017 meeting; and WHEREAS pursuant to I.C. 36-1-10-7, the City has collected signatures from p § ty fifty (50) South Bend property owners indicating their support of the lease of the Property. Said petition is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein; and WHEREAS,pursuant to I.C. § 36-1-10-7,the Common Council must determine that the structure is needed and approve said lease of the Property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: 1. The Common Council deems it necessary for the City,through its Board of Parks Commissioners,to execute the lease for the Property located 211 South St. Peter Street, South Bend, IN 46617. 2. The City of South Bend is hereby authorized to execute the lease of the Property. ADOPTED at a meeting of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana held on ' 2017, at the County-City Building, 227 West Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana 46601. Council Members 1
