MAYOR'S ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT June 19, 1968 Honorable Lloyd M. Allen and Common Council E f City Hall South Bend, Indiana F Dear Mayor and Council Members: The Mayor's Advisory Committee at the request of the Mayor has in the past few weeks actively participated in preparation and review of certain sections of a document entitled Workable Program for Community Improvement. As you are aware in order to qualify the City of South Bend for financial ` assistance in certain federal programs, a Workable Program must be submitted { for recertification by the federal government each year. We particularly call your attention to the Declaration of Policy on Page 3 and the Citizens Participation Section beginning on Page 23 which the Committee actively assisted in its development. A copy of the Workable Program for Community Improvement has been delivered to you under separate cover for your review. The Mayor's Advisory Committee now respectively submits to the Mayor and Council a resolution approving the Workable Program for Community Improvement and authorizing its submission to the federal agency. The Mayor's Advisory Committee respectively recommends to the Mayor and Council that the resolution be adopted and that the Workable Program be approved. A copy of said resolution is attached.
