RESOLUTION NO. 467 -75 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND TO APPLY FOR ADVANCE FUNDS <br />UNDER THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />ACT OF 1974, AND TO INCUR COSTS FOR THE <br />PLANNING AND PREPARATION OF AN APPLICATION <br />FOR SUCH FUNDS. <br />WHEREAS, under terms of the Federal Housing and <br />Community Development Act of 1974, Public Law 93 -383, the City <br />of South Bend is entitled to receive $3,547,000 for Community <br />Development activities, and <br />WHEREAS, these funds shall be awarded to the City <br />of South Bend only upon receipt and approval by the Department <br />of Housing and Urban Development of a satisfactory application, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, an advance request of no more than 100 of <br />the entire grant entitlement is permitted in order to enable <br />municipalities to plan and prepare for Community Development <br />activities, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />SECTION I. That the City of South Bend be authorized <br />to apply for advance funds, in accordance with regulations <br />promulgated by the Assistant Secretary for Community Planning <br />and Development. <br />SECTION II. That the City of South Bend be authorized <br />to incur costs, beginning January 1, 1975, for the planning and <br />preparation of an application for Community Development funds. <br />SECTION III. That a contract for the expenditure of <br />$149,012 be submitted to the Council for approval within 90 days <br />of the passage of this resolution. <br />SECTION IV. That this resolution shall be in full <br />force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br />r <br />Adopted January 13, 1975, as amended. <br />e common counc <br />
