T¢yL7 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF <br />$8,540.00 BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES <br />AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT /DIVISION OF COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN URBAN <br />STATISTICAL INFORMATION PACKAGE. <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br />One of the tasks of the Department of Human Resources <br />and Economic Development /Division of Community Development is <br />the preparation and implementation of a comprehensive community <br />development and improvement program. It is necessary to have <br />available a variety of current and valid statistical data for <br />housing, population, social, and economic conditions and trends <br />to facilitate the preparation of effective and efficient <br />housing /neighborhood, social service, public works, and park <br />projects; and, to secure funding, through a grantsmanship process, <br />for the implementation of these various projects. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />SECTION I. The Department of Human Resources and <br />Economic Development /Division of Community Development is authorized <br />to make an expenditure of $8,540.00 for the purchase of an urban <br />statistical information package for the City of South Bend, entitled <br />"Profiles of Change" from the R. L.
