I <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( SUB -STANDARD DIVISION) <br />Comes now John Grabarz, of the Sub -Standard Division, and reports that <br />Mr-. Gross, owner of a dwelling located at 106 S. St. Louis Blvd. requests <br />a continuance of this case in order to bring property up to standard. <br />Continuance granted until April 1, 1961 to accomplish this. <br />Mr. Grabarz submitted a letter from Mr. Joseph A. Rightley, owner of <br />property located at 1222 E. Paris Street. In the letter Mir. Rightley <br />informed the Board of Safety that, in accordance with instructions, he had <br />removed debris and partially burned shed to be removed from the premises. <br />He also has listed property, subject to repeat of the condemnation, with <br />a Real Estate Broker for sale. Any prospective buyers will be made aware <br />of the necessary repair necessary to bring property up to standard. <br />Mr. Rightley further requests a repeal of the building condemnation for:: <br />a period of six.months. <br />Request granted and case continued until May 1, 1962. <br />Mr. Grabarz and Battalion Chief Downes of the Fire Department made their <br />usual report that during the past two weeks no action has been taken with <br />reference to property located at 1147 Johnson Street. <br />SPECIAL POLICE APPLICATION <br />An application from Donovan C. David, to perform duties of Special Police <br />Officer for Meyers Merchant Police was approved by the Board. <br />SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSIONS ( LIST) <br />A List of the Special Police Officers from the Police Chief's Department, <br />was examined, accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT <br />A Monthly Report for October, 1961 from the Police Department was accepted <br />and ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION <br />An application for the Police Department from Fred Medich was accepted and <br />ordered placed on file. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted by the Board and ordered placed <br />on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( RE: HEALTH DEPARTMENT CAR) <br />Comes now Verner Lane, Building Commissioner, and requests that his Department <br />be considered in.the use of a car now being used by the Health Department. <br />The City owned vehicle, now assigned to the Health Department, may be re- <br />assigned to the Building Department. <br />The Clerk of the Board was directed to make the necessary arrangements for <br />such a transfer to the Building Department. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( PERMISSION TO EXTEND STAY AT MEETING) <br />Verner Lane, Building Commissioner, requested permission to extend his <br />stay in Pittsburgh at the time of the Building Department code changes, <br />from December 10 through December 11 to allow sufficient time to meet <br />with representaives who will not be present before this date. <br />Permission granted. <br />
