The matter of the demolition order of the house at 2205 S. Ironwood <br />Drive was brought to the attention of the Sub -Standard Department of, <br />the Building Department. Mr. Grabarz reported, at the meeting, that <br />this house was owned by an elderly lady who is presently in a Nursing <br />Home and'her family did not wish to proceed with demolition order because <br />of her physical condition. This is also a D.P.W. case. <br />After hearing Mr. Grabarz, the Board ruled that Mr. Grabarz should <br />expedite this and report back to the Board on what progress had been <br />made. <br />Mr. Lehman was advised by the Board that he would have reports toncerning <br />his requests at the next meeting of the Board. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT (HOUSE MOVE) <br />A request from the Building Department for a house move from 2605 S. Main <br />Street but of the City to Dice Street by Lewis Mitschelen, approved, ":Bldg. <br />Department reported that all affidavits have been secured. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( MONTHLY REPORT.) <br />+ The Monthly Report for August, 1961 from the Building Department was <br />accepted by the Board and ordered placed on file. <br />< SLU-STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS) <br />With reference to property commonly _known as 116 S. Walnut Street, Mr. <br />Grabarz reported that repair orders had not been complied with. Case <br />continued until next meeting and Mr. Grabarz was directed to advise <br />present occupants of this dwelling what work is to be done. <br />1 <br />With reference to property located at 603 E. Keasey Street, Mr. Grabarz <br />and Battalion Chief William Downes of the Fire Department reported that <br />there are 33 persons living in this house, a sub -standard dwelling. <br />After hearing Mr. Grabarz and Battalion Chief bownes, it was the decision <br />of the Board that the dwelling be vacated of the city legal department <br />would file eviction proceedings. <br />SPECIAL POLICE BOND <br />Special Police Bond for Steve J. Toth was approved by the Board and <br />ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT (APPLICATION) <br />An application for the Police Department for Edward Steve Szymczak was <br />accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />PERMISSION TO ATTEND CONFERENCE (FIRE CHIEF) <br />Permission was granted to the Fire Chief to attend the Conference of <br />Indiana State Fire Chiefs at Evansville, Indiana from Tuesday, September <br />11, 1961 through Saturday, September 16, 1961. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meting was <br />adjourned at 10:45 A.M. <br />Attest': AnthonyV.
