so that it is impossible for his client to use that portion of the alley. <br />Mr. Nimtz respectfully requested the Board to direct the Police Depaairtment <br />to take necessary action to open this alley for the use of his client and <br />others -in the vicinity. Mr. Nimtz further states that appeals to the con- <br />tractor and to Mainline Extrusions have been to no avail. <br />After due deliberation, the Board ruled that the alley be opened forthwith <br />and, .inasmuch as said construction was not covered by an Occupancy Permit, <br />that all construction be stopped and materials be removed from said alley. <br />Mr. Verner Lane, Building Commissioner, was notified of such directive. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION <br />With reference to a dwelling located at 1613 S. William Street, comes now <br />Mrs. Franklin, owner, and appeals demolition order of said dwelling. <br />Mrs. Franklin requested permission for a continuance of this order. <br />After hearing Mrs. Franklin, the Board granted Mrs. Franklin's request <br />for additional time to bring property up to standard and continued the <br />case until December 11, 1961. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER (TRAFFIC SIGNS) <br />A letter addressed to Mr. Verner Lane, Building Commissioner, was submitted <br />to the Board. The letter from Audiphone Company requested traffic signs <br />at the intersection of LaMonte Terrace and Park Avenue. Mr. Ackerman, <br />writer of the letter, requested that "Slow -Children Plalaing" signs be <br />installed at the four approaches to this intersection area. <br />The letter was referred to the Traffic Engineer for investigation and <br />recommendation. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT (FIRST AID SIGNS) <br />Comes now the Fire Chief and requests (permission to erect "First Aid" <br />signs on all Fire Stations. Permission granted. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT (APPLICATION) <br />An application for the Fire Department from Goldus Samuel Butler, Jr. was <br />accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT (MILITARY LEAVE) <br />Permission was granted to Officer James E. Robison for a leave of absence <br />for summer training in the active reserves from July 9 through July 23, <br />1961 in order to attend Ft. Riley Kansas training. <br />Permission was granted Officer Marvin 0. Mratz for a military leave to <br />attend Annual Field Training with the Marine Corps. reserve at Little Creek, <br />Virginia from July 22 to August 5, 1961. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT (APPLICATION) <br />An application from Thomas Charles Kazmierczak was accepted and placed on <br />file. <br />RE: AWARDING OF BIDS ( FIRE STATION NO. 13) <br />Action on awarding of bids for remodeling of Fire Station No. 13 was <br />continued until next week, or June 19, 1961. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 11:00 A.M. <br />4, <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
