ADVERTISE ('AUcrION BICYCLES) <br />The Clerk of the Board was directed to advertise for the sale at auction of <br />bicycles that have been abandoned or stolen. Advertisements will be p�Aced <br />in The South Bend Tribune and The Record on April 28 and May 50 1961 and <br />auction will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 1961 at 2:00 P.M. DST in City <br />Hall Court. In the event of rain the auction shall be postponed until <br />Thursday, May 11, 1961 at the same hour and place. <br />SPECIAL POLICE (ODNTINUATION CERTIFICATE) <br />Continuation Certificate for Special Police Officer William Krill was <br />accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />SPECIAL POLICE (APPROVED) <br />Application of Robert Marlowe Smith for Special Police Officer was approved <br />by the Board. Bond ''or said Robert Marlowe Smith.was also accepted and <br />ordered placed on file. <br />FIRE STATION NO. 13 (CALLIX MILLER - PLANS) <br />Comes now Callix Miller, Architect, with plans for Fire Station No. 13. <br />It was the decision of the Board to continue the examination of said plans <br />for one week, or until n1iay 12 1961. <br />_REQUEST. UNITED AUTOMOBILE, AIRCRAFT, AGRICULTURAL IMiPLEMEiNtT WORKERS OF <br />AMERI CA ( UAW -CIO) ANGLE PARKING <br />A request from Mr. Louis G. Nagy, President of the United- Automobile Workers <br />Union,for angle parking facilities in front of their new building now <br />being constructed at 1426 S. Main Street was presented to the Board. <br />Inasmuch as this request is inconsistent with the City's program to do away <br />with angle parking because of the hazards involved by such parking, it is <br />the,dec�ion of the Board that this request should be denied. <br />Inasmuch as this group has discussed this situation with Clem Hazinski, <br />Traffic Engineer, the Board refers this matter`. back to the Traffic Engineer <br />with the request that some solution be worked out, if possible, to the <br />satisfaction of all concernedrby regulating time limits for parking. <br />EL_ECrRI CAL DEPARTMENT ( PETITION FOR STREET LIGHT ) <br />A petition from Mx. Henry F. Ganus and others for a street light at the' <br />first alley south of `Nestern, behind Kolacz Grocery Store was presented to <br />the Board. The�Aoard referred this petition to the Electrical Department <br />for investigation and recommendation. <br />BUILDING DEPARTIVIENT ( GERMAN <br />Comes now Verner Lane, Building Commissioner, and requests permission to take <br />whatever steps are necessary to correct hazards brought about by the collapse <br />of a basement wall in the Greater B.U. Club, located at 610 N. Walnut. <br />Permission granted. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS) <br />Comes now Nicholas Cholis, attorney for George Riadkidakis, owner of property <br />located at 322 W. Garst Street and requested a 30 day extension in order to <br />demolish the structure. <br />Permission granted and case continued until May 29, 1961. <br />A hearing on property owned by Gafill D-X Oil Company, located at 702 Portage <br />Avenue, known as Lulu's Restaurant, was held at which time Mr. G. F.
