South Bend, Indiana <br />Delivery - 180 to 200 calendar days. <br />Bid Bond for $4,600.00 signed bu R.B. Sperry, Treasurer <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit signed by R. B. Sperry, Treas. <br />The Board will consider the matter further and action will be taken not <br />later than February 27, 1961. <br />RE: LETTERS CONCERNING "SNORKEL" <br />Letters from FWD Corporation, Clintonville, Wisconsin and The Seagrave <br />Corporation, Columbus, Ohio were submitted to the Board thanking the <br />Board for the specifications on the hydraulic aerial platform and <br />explaining that these companies were not submitting a bid because they do <br />not manufacture the type of platform required. The letter were examined <br />and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - (SUB STANDARD DIVISION) <br />With reference to the property located at 523 N. St. Joseph Street, Mr. <br />Wilmer Tolle and Miss Laura Sheets of the Department of Public Welfare <br />appeared before the Board to discuss the possible sale of the above -described <br />property. The Board, after hearing the details concerning this property, <br />granted a continuance of 90 days in order to give sufficient time to bring <br />certain matters to completion and to take proper court action necessary to <br />accomplish this. Hearing continued until May 22, 1961. <br />Comes now Captain Downs of the Fire Department and reports that the <br />property known as 221 S. Kentucky has now been removed and that the <br />structure located at 225 S. Kentucky is now completely vacated. This is in <br />compliance with an order issued by the Board. <br />With reference to the property at 2509 Longley, owned by Wallace Mitchell, <br />a continuant was granted Mr. Mitchell in order to bring this property up <br />to standard. <br />Mr. Grabarz reported that, up to this date, the property has not been brought <br />up to standard. The Board, therefore, gives Mr. Grabarz permission to <br />advertise for bids in order to demolish said structure and further directs <br />Mr. Grabarz to so notify Mr. Mitchell of this intention. <br />REPORT: CIVIL DEFENSE(A,DVISORY BOARD MEETING) <br />Minutes of the Civil Defense of St. Joseph County Advisory Board were referred <br />to the Board, accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION <br />An application from Robert E. Griesinger for the Police Department was <br />accepted by the Board and ordered placed on file. An application from James <br />Raymond Verhagen for the Police Department was accepted and ordered placed <br />on file. <br />SPECIAL POLICE APPLICATION <br />Application from William Sanford Penn for Special Police Officer was approved <br />by the Board, and ordered placed on file. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ( STREET LIGHT PETITION) <br />A petition from Mrs. Earl Black and others for a streetlight at alley at <br />middle of 900 block on Hill Street was referred to the Electrical Department <br />for investigation and recommendation. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
