TRAFFIC ENGINEER TRAFFIC SIGNS) <br />The Board recommended the installation of the following traffic signal: <br />Yield Right of Way Sign on southwest corner of Manchester Drive <br />at Edison Road, replaced with a Stop Sign. <br />FIRE CHIEF REQUEST -(ATTEND CONFERENCE IN MEMPHIS) <br />Comes now Fire Chief Alex Andr2ejewski and requests permission for himself <br />and Assistant Chief Lederer and Captain Flary to go to a Fire Department <br />Instructors' Conference in Memphis Tennessee from February 27, through <br />March 4, 1961. <br />The Board, having been assured that there are sufficient funds in the budget <br />for such a trip, hereby approves the trip. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION <br />An application for the Fire Department from Richard Daniel Matuszak was <br />accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT HEARINGS - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION <br />Comes now Reverend Liggens, owner of permises known as 225 S. Kentucky Street <br />and requests the Board that he'_:be given the opportunity to tear down said <br />structure, at 225 S. Kentucky Street. Rev. Liggens requests 90 days for <br />tearing down structure. <br />After hearing statements from Reverend Liggens, the Building Department <br />and Captain Downs of the Fire Department and having ascertained that the <br />health and well being of persons are in danger under present conditions, <br />permission was granted for a 90 day extension , conditioned upon the removal <br />of all living persons of said structure, not later than February 15, 1961. <br />Said daft for vacating of premises has been chosen by Reverend Liggens as <br />he desires that much time for said vacating of building. <br />If occupants are not removed by February 159 1961, said order of extension <br />shall be null and void and the Building Department shall be instructed to <br />proceed for the removal and demolishment of said building. <br />SUB -STANDARD DIVISION (DEMOLITION BIDS) <br />John Grabarz, of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building appears before <br />the Board and states that the bid of Joseph Ksiezopolski for the demolition <br />of structure at 203 S. Kentucky Street is the low bid, without salvage. <br />Said bid is $ 175.00 <br />With reference to the demolition of structure at 215 S. Kentucky Street, <br />Mr. Grabarz reports to the Braid that the low bid is submitted by B & 0 <br />Wreaking Company. Said bid is $225 without salvage, $175 with salvage. <br />Mr. Grabarz further requested permission of the Board to write to Joseph <br />Ksiezopolski and B & 0 Wrecking Company and request that they hold their <br />bids firm for a period of not more than 90 days from this date so that <br />legal matters concerning these properties can be completed. <br />The Board directs the Sub -Standard Division of Building Department to award <br />bids to low bidders and also grants permission to contact bidders with <br />reference to the 90 day waitidg period as explained above. <br />Comes now Mrs. Wright of 719 Dunn St. to show cause why demolition orddr <br />for this property had not been €arried out. Mrs. Wright advised the Board <br />that Mr. Wright was ill and, further, that demolition of accessory buildings <br />had been completed. After hearing Mrs.41right, it appeared to the Board that <br />there was a misunderstanding concerning the demolition order. Mr. Grabarz <br />was directed to visit Mr. Wright in his home and explain the requirements <br />to him, and also to make an effort to re -locate Mr. and Mrs. Wright in <br />the Plaza Apartments, a newly completed housing project. Hearing was <br />continued to a future date. <br />
