MP <br />January 309 1961 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, January <br />30, 1961 at 10:00 A.M. All memvers were present. Minutes of the last <br />regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered <br />paid to the various suppliers. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - BUILDING DEPARTMENT <br />The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and the bids for <br />the Sedan for the Building Department were opened and read aloud. Proofs <br />of publication from The South Bend Tribune and The Record with affidavit <br />for The Tribune signed by Robert DeLong and The Record by William Slavick <br />were found sufficient. The reason for <br />such early advertising -is because it takes 200 working days before <br />delivery. <br />The Board, being assured by the Fire Chief that there is sufficient money <br />in the budget for such purchase, granted permission for such a purchase. <br />AdveEtisements will appear on February 3 and February 20, 1961 and bids <br />will be opened at 10:00 A.M. on February 20, 1961. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT REQUEST (PURDUE U. COURSE - MECHANICS) <br />Comes now Fire Chief Alex Andrzejewski and requests permission to send Captain <br />Carl Martz to Purdue University, Fire Administeator's Course in Mechanics on <br />February 8, 1961. Permission granted. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT (ACCIDENT REPORT) <br />A report of a minor accident involving a fire truck was reported to the Board, <br />examined and ordered placed on file. <br />RE: FIRE STATION NO. 13 REMODELING (CALLIX MILLER CONTRACT) <br />Callix Miller, Architect, submitted to the Board Form A.I.A. Contract for <br />performance of services for Fire Station No. 13, 1616 Portage Avenue. <br />The Board will examine said contract and report at the next meeting. <br />
