e <br />Street Outage Report was examined and approved and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - HEARINGS <br />Through a clerical error the following action by the Board at the meetin- <br />of August 22, 1960 was not included in the Minutes of that meeting: <br />A hearing was held on August 22, 1960 concerning the condemned property at <br />805 S. Bendix Drive. Reverend Bowles appeared before the Board and informed <br />the Board that he wishes to repair the property and requested 60 days in <br />order to make the necessary repair. It was the decision of the Board that <br />the Building Department submit, a list of requirements for the repair and <br />the property must be brought up to standard by October 24, 1960. Hearing <br />will be continued until that date. <br />Comes now John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of the <br />Building Department and informs the Board that Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Price were <br />ordered to appear to show cause why property at 811 S. Bendix Drive had <br />not been brought up to standard and that said property owners had failed <br />to appear. The hearing Was continued until September 12, 1960. <br />John Grabarz also reports that James Tsalakis who was ordered to appear <br />to show cause as to why property at 2114 Western Avenue had not been <br />brought up to standard had failed to appear. Hearing was continued until <br />r-° September 12, 1960. <br />In connection with property belonging to Mr. Wallace Mitchell, 917 Jacob <br />Street, a hearing was scheduled for this date at which time Mr. Mitchell <br />was ordered to appear. Since Mr. Mitchell failed to do so, the Board <br />continued the hearing for one week and directed the Building Department <br />to withhold action on the demolition order for one week. If no work <br />has been done by September 12, 1960, said building will be demolished <br />according to the Ordinances of the City of South Bend. Mr. Irving J. <br />Smith directed a letter to be sent to Mr. Mitchell confirming the above <br />action of the Board. <br />Application from Mathilda Virginia Good for Police Auxiliary School Patrol <br />was approved and ordered placed on file. Application from Elizabath <br />Kathryn Gesko for Police Aixiliary School Patrol was also approved and <br />ordered placed on file. <br />Applications from Thomas Frederick Gustafson and Brian Leslie Campbell for <br />the Police Department were a-cgepte_d and ordered placed on file. <br />Applications from Artell Glenn Boudreau and Richard Fred Grant for the <br />Fire Department were aa;cepted3 and ordered placed on file. <br />A report from Police Chief J. C. Dutrieux concerning a slight accident <br />to a Police car was submitted to the Board, examined and referred to the <br />Clerk for proper action. <br />There_:being.:no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 2:30 P.M. <br />Attest: A4fhony J.
