e Street Outage Report was examined and approved and ordered placed on file. BUILDING DEPARTMENT - HEARINGS Through a clerical error the following action by the Board at the meetin- of August 22, 1960 was not included in the Minutes of that meeting: A hearing was held on August 22, 1960 concerning the condemned property at 805 S. Bendix Drive. Reverend Bowles appeared before the Board and informed the Board that he wishes to repair the property and requested 60 days in order to make the necessary repair. It was the decision of the Board that the Building Department submit, a list of requirements for the repair and the property must be brought up to standard by October 24, 1960. Hearing will be continued until that date. Comes now John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Department and informs the Board that Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Price were ordered to appear to show cause why property at 811 S. Bendix Drive had not been brought up to standard and that said property owners had failed to appear. The hearing Was continued until September 12, 1960. John Grabarz also reports that James Tsalakis who was ordered to appear to show cause as to why property at 2114 Western Avenue had not been brought up to standard had failed to appear. Hearing was continued until r-° September 12, 1960. In connection with property belonging to Mr. Wallace Mitchell, 917 Jacob Street, a hearing was scheduled for this date at which time Mr. Mitchell was ordered to appear. Since Mr. Mitchell failed to do so, the Board continued the hearing for one week and directed the Building Department to withhold action on the demolition order for one week. If no work has been done by September 12, 1960, said building will be demolished according to the Ordinances of the City of South Bend. Mr. Irving J. Smith directed a letter to be sent to Mr. Mitchell confirming the above action of the Board. Application from Mathilda Virginia Good for Police Auxiliary School Patrol was approved and ordered placed on file. Application from Elizabath Kathryn Gesko for Police Aixiliary School Patrol was also approved and ordered placed on file. Applications from Thomas Frederick Gustafson and Brian Leslie Campbell for the Police Department were a-cgepte_d and ordered placed on file. Applications from Artell Glenn Boudreau and Richard Fred Grant for the Fire Department were aa;cepted3 and ordered placed on file. A report from Police Chief J. C. Dutrieux concerning a slight accident to a Police car was submitted to the Board, examined and referred to the Clerk for proper action.
