Applications for the Fire Department were approved and placed on file for Joseph <br />McMahon and Robert Ulbricht. <br />Applications for the Police Auxiliary School Patrol were examined and placed on <br />file for Anna Menzie. <br />Nicholas Horvath, Supt. of the Electrical Department, recommends the installation <br />of the following street lights: <br />119 N. Francis Street <br />900 block W. LaSalle Avenue, 4000 lumen <br />730 Twenty -Sixth Street, 4000 lumen <br />Byron Drive and Coral Drive, 4000 lumen <br />3800 Springbrook Drive, 4000 lumen <br />Comes now Gladys Stovall, 10162 South Main Street before the Board with reference <br />to an appeal of the action from the Building Department for a condemnation order <br />against a dwelling at said location. It is now determined that the Building will <br />be used as an auxiliary building and not as a dwelling for residence, therefore, <br />the order of condemnation will be dismissed. <br />Also, appearing now -on behalf of Henry and Sara Rogers, 1111 S. Chestnut Street <br />is Mr. Russell Fisher, Attorney in regards to a hearing for condemnation ofaa <br />dwelling located at 101 S. Kentucky Street and owned by said Rogers'. Mr. Fisher <br />reports that the Rogers have since employed a licensed plumber and electrician <br />and requests that they be given a stay of execution until such time as they are <br />able to submit plans and proof to the Building Department for correction of ::said <br />dwelling to comply with Building Code requirements. Therefore, this hearing will <br />be continued for three weeks and will be held then on November 17, 1958, at 10:00 <br />A.M. in the office of the Board of Public Works and Safety. <br />Petitions as follows from Mr. Frank Barna, 1012 W. Colfax and several others pe- <br />titioning for the erection of street lighting at the alley between 1011 and 1015 <br />West Colfax Avenue (said alley being the first alley west of St. Paul's Church on <br />the north side of W. Colfax); from Major Joseph J. Reicher, 526 Leland Avenue to <br />erect a light at 517 Leland Avenue; from Eugene T. Policinski, 1050 North Huey St. <br />for a street light at 1026 North Huey Street; from Carolyn Schmanske, 9152 West <br />LaSalle Avenue by placing a street light at or near Seebirt Place, or at the end <br />of the 800 block of West LaSalle Avenue. All petitions are now referred to the <br />office of the City Electrical Superintendent's office for investigation and fur- <br />ther recommendation. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, it was so announced that <br />the Board meeting be adjourned at 10:45 &N. <br />CHAIRMAN <br />ATTEST: ANTiI W1J.
