Leonard Brooks, Jr. -admits that on the llth day of June, 1957 he reported to the <br />office of `the Chief of Police without arms, in violation of Rule #15. <br />Leonard Brooks, Jr. admits that on the loth day of June, 1957 he reported to the <br />Police Surgeon, William J. Stogdill, M.D., and said surgeon -ordered said Leonard <br />Brooks to report for duty on the loth day of June, 1957 and said Leonard Brooks <br />failed to obey said order, all in violation of Rule #20. <br />Said Officer having pleaded guilty to the charges against him, the Board now makes <br />the following finding: <br />That Leonard Brooks, Jr. shall be suspended from the duties <br />of the South Bend Police Department, effective as of June 10, <br />19579 for a period of sixty (60) days and also said Brooks <br />will be required to pay of fine ;of two -hundred ($200.00) dollars <br />to be deducted from his salary after his return to police duty. <br />And further, if any infractions or violations of the Rules and <br />Regulations of the Police Department by said Leonard Brooks, Jr. <br />are brought back before the Board again, said Brooks would be <br />permanently suspended from the South Bend Police Department. <br />Copy of charges on file in the office of the Board of Public Works and Safety. <br />The Board of Public Safety examined the directive issued by City Judge, Edward <br />Olczak, referring to bail. Directive is hereby referred to Police Department <br />with instructions to follow as noted on said directive. <br />There being no further business to cone before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 10:45 A.M.
