Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director, submitted a report concerning the <br />proposed installation of a brighter street light at intersection of <br />Jefferson Boulevard and.Ironwood Drive. <br />The Engineering Department was directed to investigate a recommendation <br />made by the Electrical Department to install a 211000 lumen street <br />light at the above -mentioned intersection. <br />Mr. Hazinski-reported that studies of this type could be more conclusive <br />with such a street light in place. Mr. Hazinski recommended that this <br />installation be made and future studies and reports,be submitted, as <br />to whether this type of illumination solves the traffic hazard problem <br />at this location. <br />The Board approved such installation. <br />RFPnR.T OF F.TWITRTrAT. Gene Radecki, Electrical <br />Department Superintendent recommended that two 6000 lumen type street <br />lights be installed to relieve the dark condition in this area. <br />The Board referred this request and recommendation to the City Engineer <br />for study and further recommendation. <br />Eugene Radecki, Electrical Department, submitted a report to the Board <br />with reference to a proposal.from Indiana & Michigan Electric Company <br />to replace 12 - 1,000 lumen (92) watt) underground street lights <br />on Corby Boulevard between Niles Avenue and St. Louis Boulevard with <br />6 - 6,000'lumen (405;watt) overhead street lights, properly spaced <br />as shown on an attached drawing. <br />The present cost to the City of $24.00 per month. Under the new <br />lighting system the cost would be 21.90 per month. <br />The Board approved the replacement but directed Mr. Radecki to contact <br />the residents in this area and explain the advantages of the new higher <br />powered lighting system. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: PETITION FOR`:STOP : SIGN ( CLEVELAND & VASSAR ) <br />A Petition from residents of Cleveland and Vassar Avenues fora stop <br />sign installation was submitt 4 to the Board and referred to the <br />Traffic Engineer for inveatigation and recommendation. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: TRAFFIC SIGN INSTALLATION PROPOSAL <br />A list of proposed traffic sign installations submitted by Clem Hazinski, <br />Traffic Engineer, was submitted to the Board, examined and taken under <br />advisement. <br />PO,�.TCE DEPARTMENT ATTEND- NATIONAL IIID WINTER PISTOL TjATCHES <br />Permission was granted Police Chief Hampton to send the following Police <br />officers to Tampa Florida from 14arch 8 through March 19, 1965 for the. <br />National Mid -Winter Pistol Matches.
