December 21, 1964 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />December 21, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of <br />the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved <br />and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT• SUB -STANDARD DIVISION IN <br />Comes now Richard Liszewski, Supervisor of the Sub -Standard Division of <br />the Building Department, and advises the Board that Mr. Cook of 506 <br />27th Street property had been requested to appear before the Board to <br />show cause why this property had not been brought up to standard. <br />However, Mr. Cook did not appear, nor did he contact the Sub -Standard <br />Division concerning this property. <br />It was the decision of the Board to continue this case for one week <br />and to again request that Mr. Cook appear before the Board on December <br />28, 1964. <br />Mr. Liszewski advised the Board that property owned by Mrs. Jennie <br />X Laline, located at 633 N. Walnut Street has now been vacated. He also <br />reported that Tt-can be repaired and that he has looked at the property. <br />The Board ruled that, since this property had not been brought up to <br />standard, Mr. Liszewski should post notices for condemnation. <br />With reference to property owned by Mr. and Mrs. Plummer, located at <br />620 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Mrs. Charles Plummer reported to Mr. Liszewski <br />that they were buying this property under land contract and that there <br />were many more repairs that had to be made thank they expected when they <br />contracted for the property. <br />Mrs. Plummer advised Mr. Liszewski that she intended to attempt to get <br />their payments lowered from the present owner of the property and, if <br />this could not be accomplished", they could not afford to bring the <br />property up to standard. <br />Mr. Liszewski advised Mrs. Plummer to contact him by January 8, 1964 to <br />show what had been accomplished by that date. <br />After hearing Mr. Liszewski, the Board continued this case until January <br />11, 1964 at which ti:.e Mr. Liszewski will report what progress had been <br />made. <br />APPROVAL OF SNOW ROUTES <br />Pursuant to authority granted to the Board by Ordinance No. 4714-64, the <br />Board of Public Safety now, by regulation, designates the -streets itemized <br />on the Schedule filed herewith on this date and approved by the Board <br />of Public Safety as Snow Routes and" further orders that said streets <br />are to be designated as Snow Routes by suitable signs and markers. <br />POLICE DEPARTIVENT ( PRCUOTIONS ) <br />Following the recommendation of Police Chief Hampton, the following <br />promotions were approved by the Board, effective January 1, 1965: <br />Richard Albright, from Cpl. to Sgt. <br />Edmund Niespodziany, from Cpl. to Sgt. <br />Raymond Pierson, from Cp1, to Sgt. <br />Russell Ryker, from Patrolman to Det. Sgt. <br />POLICE DEPARTENT ( APPLICATION ) <br />An application for the Police Department from Henry Frederick August <br />Meier, II was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />
