December 21, 1964 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, December 21, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. BUILDING DEPARTMENT• SUB -STANDARD DIVISION IN Comes now Richard Liszewski, Supervisor of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Department, and advises the Board that Mr. Cook of 506 27th Street property had been requested to appear before the Board to show cause why this property had not been brought up to standard. However, Mr. Cook did not appear, nor did he contact the Sub -Standard Division concerning this property. It was the decision of the Board to continue this case for one week and to again request that Mr. Cook appear before the Board on December 28, 1964. Mr. Liszewski advised the Board that property owned by Mrs. Jennie X Laline, located at 633 N. Walnut Street has now been vacated. He also reported that Tt-can be repaired and that he has looked at the property. The Board ruled that, since this property had not been brought up to standard, Mr. Liszewski should post notices for condemnation. With reference to property owned by Mr. and Mrs. Plummer, located at 620 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Mrs. Charles Plummer reported to Mr. Liszewski that they were buying this property under land contract and that there were many more repairs that had to be made thank they expected when they contracted for the property. Mrs. Plummer advised Mr. Liszewski that she intended to attempt to get their payments lowered from the present owner of the property and, if this could not be accomplished", they could not afford to bring the property up to standard. Mr. Liszewski advised Mrs. Plummer to contact him by January 8, 1964 to show what had been accomplished by that date. After hearing Mr. Liszewski, the Board continued this case until January 11, 1964 at which ti:.e Mr. Liszewski will report what progress had been made. APPROVAL OF SNOW ROUTES Pursuant to authority granted to the Board by Ordinance No. 4714-64, the Board of Public Safety now, by regulation, designates the -streets itemized on the Schedule filed herewith on this date and approved by the Board of Public Safety as Snow Routes and" further orders that said streets are to be designated as Snow Routes by suitable signs and markers. POLICE DEPARTIVENT ( PRCUOTIONS ) Following the recommendation of Police Chief Hampton, the following promotions were approved by the Board, effective January 1, 1965: Richard Albright, from Cpl. to Sgt. Edmund Niespodziany, from Cpl. to Sgt. Raymond Pierson, from Cp1, to Sgt. Russell Ryker, from Patrolman to Det. Sgt. POLICE DEPARTENT ( APPLICATION ) An application for the Police Department from Henry Frederick August Meier, II was accepted and ordered placed on file.
