October 13, 1964 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public.Safety was held on Monday, <br />October 13, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />AWARDING BID: TRAFFIC ENGINEER i , TON TRUCK <br />Following examination of the bids submitted to the Board for the z <br />Ton Truck for the Traffic Engineer Department, Mr. Hazinski, Traffic <br />Engineer, reported to the Board that all bids were in accordance <br />to specifications. <br />It appearing that the lowest and best bid was the one submitted by <br />the following, it is now so awarded; <br />R6my Hammes CoUoration <br />South Bend,, Indiana <br />1 - 1965 Ford 2 Ton Pick-up with trade-in $1,3$7.49 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB-STAN73ARD D13TSION i HEARINGS ) <br />With reference to property located at 2010 S. Michigan Street, <br />Mrs. Geraldine Hatt of 2006 S. Michigan Street appeared to remonstrate <br />against this property. <br />It was the decision of the Board that Mr. DuComb will write a letter <br />to Mr. Schwertley, attorney. If Mr. Schwertley does not appear a <br />contract will be let for demolition. <br />Case continued until November 16, 1964 <br />With reference to property located at 2220 W. Dunham, owned by <br />Willis Devine, Mr. Dressel, attorney for the owner appeared and <br />requested a continuance of 30 days in order to allow Mr. Devine <br />sufficient time to make the necessary repairs. <br />Request granted and case continued until November 16, 1964. <br />With reference to property located at 1217 S. Rush Street, the Board <br />suggested that the owner discuss the matter of financial responsibility <br />with his attorney, Mr. Parker and report back to the Board as to <br />whether he is financially able to make the necessary repairs. <br />Case continued until November 16, 1964. <br />A progress report on property located at 915 S. Carroll Street, owned <br />by Mrs. Sarah Horner was submitted to the Board. <br />Mrs. Horner has notified Mr. Grabarz that she is not financially able <br />to pay for demolition of sucject property and requested that the City <br />demolish same and place a lien on the property. <br />Mr. Grabarz was directed to advertise for bids for demolition. <br />With reference to property located at 715 S. Fellows Street, Mr. Joseph <br />Eckenroth, owner, appeared before the Board and advised the Board that <br />he is not financially able to pay for demolition of subject property. <br />The Board directed Mr,-Grabarz--to-advertise for demolition and place <br />a lien on the property. <br />
