October 13, 1964 A regular meeting of the Board of Public.Safety was held on Monday, October 13, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. AWARDING BID: TRAFFIC ENGINEER i , TON TRUCK Following examination of the bids submitted to the Board for the z Ton Truck for the Traffic Engineer Department, Mr. Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, reported to the Board that all bids were in accordance to specifications. It appearing that the lowest and best bid was the one submitted by the following, it is now so awarded; R6my Hammes CoUoration South Bend,, Indiana 1 - 1965 Ford 2 Ton Pick-up with trade-in $1,3$7.49 BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB-STAN73ARD D13TSION i HEARINGS ) With reference to property located at 2010 S. Michigan Street, Mrs. Geraldine Hatt of 2006 S. Michigan Street appeared to remonstrate against this property. It was the decision of the Board that Mr. DuComb will write a letter to Mr. Schwertley, attorney. If Mr. Schwertley does not appear a contract will be let for demolition. Case continued until November 16, 1964 With reference to property located at 2220 W. Dunham, owned by Willis Devine, Mr. Dressel, attorney for the owner appeared and requested a continuance of 30 days in order to allow Mr. Devine sufficient time to make the necessary repairs. Request granted and case continued until November 16, 1964. With reference to property located at 1217 S. Rush Street, the Board suggested that the owner discuss the matter of financial responsibility with his attorney, Mr. Parker and report back to the Board as to whether he is financially able to make the necessary repairs. Case continued until November 16, 1964. A progress report on property located at 915 S. Carroll Street, owned by Mrs. Sarah Horner was submitted to the Board. Mrs. Horner has notified Mr. Grabarz that she is not financially able to pay for demolition of sucject property and requested that the City demolish same and place a lien on the property. Mr. Grabarz was directed to advertise for bids for demolition. With reference to property located at 715 S. Fellows Street, Mr. Joseph Eckenroth, owner, appeared before the Board and advised the Board that he is not financially able to pay for demolition of subject property. The Board directed Mr,-Grabarz--to-advertise for demolition and place a lien on the property.
