September 21, 1964 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />September 21, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />AWARDING BIDS: FIRE DEPARTMENT ( TWO SEDANS - ONE PICK-UP TRgCK ) <br />After examination and tabulation of the bids received for the two <br />four -door sedans and one-half ton pick-up truck, it was the decision <br />of the Board to award the bids as follows: <br />Gates Chevrolet was the laff bidder on the truck but did not meet the <br />specifications. Gates bid on a step side body instead of a flair side <br />body as in the specifications; Gates also failed to include rust <br />guarding in their bid as required by the specifications. <br />Therefore, the bid for the I ton truck was awarded as follows: <br />RgM Hammes Corp. <br />1 - 1965 Ford Pick-up Truck $1 457.62 <br />The bid for the 6 cylinder four -door sedan was awarded as follows: <br />Rome Hammes Coro. <br />1 - 1965 Ford Custom 6 cylinder $1,644.36 <br />The bid for the VS four -door sedan was awarded as follows: <br />Coates Chevrolet Corp. <br />1 - 1965 Biscayne four -door $2,085.00 <br />Optional equipment: <br />Siren & PA 160.75 <br />Motorola Radio 571.50 <br />Total bid $2,817.25 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( REPORT ) <br />In accordance with instructions from the Board, the Fire Department <br />submitted a report with photographs on the present condition of a <br />structure located at 313 N. Scott Street. <br />According to the report, this house is in a dilapidated condition <br />and, while not beyond repair, unless repairs are made very soon, <br />it will be beyond saving. <br />The report and photographs were examined and ordered placed on file. <br />SUB -STANDARD DI ION ( HE INGS & PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS <br />FOR DEMOLITION ) <br />Comes now John Grabarz and informs the Board that Mr. and Mrs. Blad, <br />owners of property located at 715 S. Meade Street had failed to appear <br />before the Board to discuss repair of property and cost of same. <br />It was the decision of the Board to have advertisements placed for <br />demolition of this property. <br />With reference to property located at 317 S. Kentucky Street, Mr. <br />Grabarz reported that J. C. Cauffman, party of interest, had failed <br />to appear on this date, as requested. <br />Mr. Grabarz was directed by the Board to advertise for demolition bids. <br />
