7 <br />PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE: FIRE DEPARTMENT ( 2 SEDANS AND 1 TRUCK ) <br />At the request of the Fire Chief, permission was granted for the Fire <br />Department to advertise for one 4-Door V8 Sedan, one 4-Door 6 cyl. <br />Sedan and one I Ton Pick-up Truck. Advertisements will be placed in <br />the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News on August 28, and <br />September 4, 1964. Bids will be opened on September 14, 1964 <br />Specifications submitted by the Chief are available in the Office of <br />the Board. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT INSTALLATIONS <br />Following the recommendation of the Electrical Department Superintendent <br />the following.installations were approved: <br />1. Petition for street light in the 500 block of N. Allen 8r <br />2. Petition for street light at corner of Columbia and Fox Street. <br />PETITIONS: STREET LIGHTS - COUNCILMAN SZYMKONIAK <br />two Petitions pigned by restdents of the areas and submitted to the'' <br />Board by Councilmanf Sk,V" `1&6 'iik were referred to, the Electrical Department <br />for investigation and recommendation. The petitions are: <br />1. Petition from residents of,Prast Boulevard requesting a street <br />light on Prast between Goodland and Bendix Drive. <br />2. Petition from residents of Frederickson Street requesting a street <br />light in the 2400 block of Frederickson at south-east side corner <br />of alley of property 2404-Frederickson. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER ( INSTALLATIONS ) <br />Following the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer, the following <br />installations were approved: <br />Stop signs installed on Emerson Avenue, both sides, at Mishawaka Ave. <br />Time limit signs installed to cover 110 S. Hill St. ( 2 hour limit ). <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER; REQUEST - STOP SIGN ( COUNCILMAN SZYMKOWIAK ) <br />A request from Councilman Szymkowiak for a four-way stop sign at the <br />corner of Olive and Longley Streets was submitted to the Board, examined <br />and referred to the Traffic Engineer for investigation and recommendation. <br />PETITION: TRAFFIC ENGINEER ( TRAFFIC SIGN ) <br />A.Petition from residents of the 700 block of Allen Street requesting <br />the installation of a Warning Safety sign placed, according to the <br />Petition "from Sherman to Allen" was referred to the City Traffic Engineer <br />for investigation and clarification and recommendation. <br />The Board requested the Traffic Engineer to interview some of the residents <br />named on the Petition to ascertain where the sign is to be placed and <br />report his findings back to the Board. <br />WEIGHTS & MEASURES REPORT <br />A report for the month of July, 1964 from the Weights & Measures Department <br />was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />APPLICATION: POLICE AUXILIARY SCHOOL PATROL <br />An application from Mrs. Arlene Fields for Police Auxiliary School Patrol <br />was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />
