356 July 20, 1964 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monda, July 20, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) Comes now John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Department, with reference to property located at 1501 W. Orange Street, owned by Mrs. L. Hibbitt. Mrs. Hibbitt was present and represented by counsel, Mr. Dan Morgan. She advised the Board that she had acquired the property, which is sub -standard, in 1961 and had made some repairs. Mr. Morgan aldo advised the Board that Mrs. Hibbitt would like to either repair property or tear it down and would like additional time to do this. After hearing all who wished to be heard, the Board directed that Mr. Grabarz make a new list of requirements to bring property up to standard and submit to Mrs. Hibbitt. Hearing continued for one week. Comes now Mr. Frank Cook, with reference to property located at 506 27th Street to show cause why property has not been brought up to standard in accordance with instructions issued a year ago. Mr. Grabarz informed the Board that the house is now occupied which is in direct violation of a past ruling of the Board. Mr. Cook stated that he has made some repairs and that he is selling the house on land contract and the lndiffidual buying the property understands that more repairs will be made by Mr. Cook. After hearing Mr. Cook, the Board directed that the new owner come before the Board on Aug:, 3rd,1964 with Mr. Cook so that all interested parties will understand the arrangements. Mr. George Eppley is buying this property on land contract. SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( DEMOLITION ) John Grabarz requested permission to advertise for bids for demolition for property located at 510 Marietta Street, the Allen B. Gray Estate. Permission granted. Mr. Grabarz requested permission to advertise for bids for demolition for property located at 1728 N. Kaley Street. He informed the Board that he has not been able to contact parties of interest. Last known owner was Ward Curtiss. Permission granted. With reference to property owned by Mrs Lottie King, located at 234 Sample, Mr. Grabarz informed the Board that his inspectors have not b#en able to get into the house for an inspection because of 'debris. Th Board advised Mr. Grabarz to request that Mrs. King be present at the meeting on August 3, 1964.
