356 <br />July 20, 1964 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monda, July <br />20, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last <br />regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered <br />paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) <br />Comes now John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of the <br />Building Department, with reference to property located at 1501 W. <br />Orange Street, owned by Mrs. L. Hibbitt. <br />Mrs. Hibbitt was present and represented by counsel, Mr. Dan Morgan. <br />She advised the Board that she had acquired the property, which is <br />sub -standard, in 1961 and had made some repairs. <br />Mr. Morgan aldo advised the Board that Mrs. Hibbitt would like to either <br />repair property or tear it down and would like additional time to do <br />this. <br />After hearing all who wished to be heard, the Board directed that Mr. <br />Grabarz make a new list of requirements to bring property up to standard <br />and submit to Mrs. Hibbitt. <br />Hearing continued for one week. <br />Comes now Mr. Frank Cook, with reference to property located at 506 27th <br />Street to show cause why property has not been brought up to standard <br />in accordance with instructions issued a year ago. Mr. Grabarz informed <br />the Board that the house is now occupied which is in direct violation <br />of a past ruling of the Board. <br />Mr. Cook stated that he has made some repairs and that he is selling the <br />house on land contract and the lndiffidual buying the property understands <br />that more repairs will be made by Mr. Cook. <br />After hearing Mr. Cook, the Board directed that the new owner come before <br />the Board on Aug:, 3rd,1964 with Mr. Cook so that all interested parties <br />will understand the arrangements. <br />Mr. George Eppley is buying this property on land contract. <br />SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( DEMOLITION ) <br />John Grabarz requested permission to advertise for bids for demolition <br />for property located at 510 Marietta Street, the Allen B. Gray Estate. <br />Permission granted. <br />Mr. Grabarz requested permission to advertise for bids for demolition <br />for property located at 1728 N. Kaley Street. He informed the Board <br />that he has not been able to contact parties of interest. Last known <br />owner was Ward Curtiss. <br />Permission granted. <br />With reference to property owned by Mrs Lottie King, located at 234 <br />Sample, Mr. Grabarz informed the Board that his inspectors have not b#en <br />able to get into the house for an inspection because of 'debris. <br />Th Board advised Mr. Grabarz to request that Mrs. King be present at <br />the meeting on August 3, 1964. <br />
