orders to clean up old lumber in the yard . <br />Rev. Bowles informed the Board that he intended to clean up:;,Ahe old <br />lumber and stack it in yard. He requested more time to accomplish <br />this work. <br />After hearing Rev. Bowles and Mr. Grabarz, it was the decision of the <br />Board to continue the hearing for two weeks. Rev. Boucles must have <br />lumber stacked neatly within that time. <br />Comes now Mr. Taylor, owner of property at 830 S. Rush Street, to <br />request additional time in which to demolish garage on the property <br />as ordered. <br />Mr. Grabarz informed the Board that the building has been town down <br />to first floor level. <br />Mr. Taylor advised the Board that he can complete the work within <br />two weeks. <br />Permission granted. Case continued until July 13, 1964. Mr. Taylor <br />was ordered to barricade the open basement. <br />This being the date set, bids were opened for demolition of a structure <br />located at 1032 Talbott Street. <br />The following bids were received: <br />Chas, Clough <br />25412 State Road #2 $175.00 Retain salvage <br />South Bend, Indiana 225.00 Stack salvage <br />A & J Demolition <br />318 O'Brien St. $220.00 Retain salvage <br />South Bend, Ind. 235.00 Stage salvage. <br />It appearing that the bid of Chas. Clough is the lowest and best <br />bid, the bid is now awarded to Chas. Clough in accordance with his <br />Proposal. <br />W. Grabarz was directed to write a letter to the party of interest <br />residing in Russelville, Kentucky. The party of interest is Mr. 0. <br />T. McCutchen. <br />RE: REQUEST FOR PROMOTIONS - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />With reference to a request from Fire Chief McHenry for promotion of <br />Firemen Frank Tonk, Jack Bukowski and Dale Fortin, action on this <br />was taken under advisement for further study. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT ( MILITARY LEAVE ) <br />Following the recommendation of Police Chief Hampton, the Board approved <br />military leave for the following officers: <br />Officer Marvin 0. Martz, August 16 to August 30, 1964 to attend annual field <br />training with Marine Corps Reserves Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. <br />Officer D. Thompson, August 16 to August 30, 1964 to attend summer camp <br />with the Marine Corps Reserve at Camp Laimine, North Carolina. <br />
