2 <br />Mr. West informed the Board that the garage has been inspected by him <br />and found to be in good condition. <br />Garage move approved, provided all requirements of Code are met.: <br />Comes now.Mr. George Bernath and requests permission to move a house <br />located on the northwest corner of Lincoln Way West and Elmer Street <br />to a temporary site in a vacant lot behind a filling station on the <br />northwest corner of Lincoln Way West�and'Olive Street. <br />Mr. Bernath explained that this temporary move of approximately three <br />weeks is necessary because the location at Elmer and Lincoln Way West <br />is to be the,site of a new branch Public Library and that this building <br />must be constructed immediately. Since no permanent site has been found <br />for the house, the temporary move is necessary. <br />The temporary location is Lot No. 38-39 Olive Heights Addition. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: INSTALLATION OF BUS ZONE <br />Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer submitted aireport rin which[:he recommended <br />that a bus zone be installed on the west side of the 500 block of South <br />Main Street for a distance of approximately 40 feet, just south of <br />Monroe Street. This zone would accommodate a''bus when all of the spaces <br />on the ramp at the Union Bus Depot are filled. <br />The Board approved the.installation of such a zone. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: PARKING METER REMOVALS ( MAIN STREET & LASALLE <br />Clem Hazinski; Traffic, -Engineer, submitted a report in which he :recommended <br />that the first two parking meters on the south side of LaSalle Street <br />just east of Main Street be removed to provide for a far side bus stop. <br />Buses presently stop at the southwest corner of Main Street and LaSalle <br />to pick up or discharge passengers. Stopping at this location blocks the <br />right turn traffic lane. <br />The Board approved such removal. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: MAYORS REQUEST ( MISHAWAKA AVENUE TRAFFIC SIGNALS) <br />The Board advised Mr. Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, that the Mayor had <br />requested prompt action with reference to the Traffic Engineer's study of <br />traffic signals for Mishawaka Avenue at the new location of the Associates <br />Investment Company. <br />Because of the increased pedestrian traffic at this new facility,.it is <br />urgent that traffic signals be installed as soon as possible. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARING <br />Comes now John Grabarz, Sub -Standard Division Surervisor, and advises <br />the Board that property owned by Mrs. Virginia Waters, located at 3903 <br />W. Washington Avenue is now vacant and the object of vandalism. The <br />owner has failed to board up windows and doors to secure dwelling from <br />further vandalism. <br />Mrs. Virginia Waters, owner of the property, was present at the hearing <br />and advised the Board that she is a widow and has not been able to <br />properly secure dwelling as requested. Also, Mrs. Waters explained <br />that she has not had adequate funds to bring property up to standard. <br />After hearing Mrs. Waters and Mr. Grabarz, the Board ruled that the <br />hearing be continued for,one_week_,_-during,_which time Mrs. Waters shall <br />
