32 <br />compliance of the Building Department Code of the City of South Bend. <br />SUB -STANDARD DIV. ( OPEN BIDS ) <br />Comes now John Grabarz of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building <br />Department, and informs the Board that he has received the following <br />bids for demolition of 1712 Eclipse Place, presently.occupied;by <br />Mr. Lynch: <br />Bill Torok <br />54195-Burdett St. <br />South Bend, Ind. <br />Charles Clough <br />25412 State Road #2 <br />South Bend, Ind. <br />A & J. Demolition <br />318 O'Brien St. <br />South Bend, Ind. <br />$260.00 - retain salvage <br />$300.00 - stack material <br />$245.00 - retain salvage. <br />$400.00 - stack material <br />$235.00 - retain salvage <br />$250.00 - stack material. - <br />After examination of the above bids, it was the decision of the Board <br />to award the bid to the following: - <br />A & D Demolition $235.00 - retain salvage <br />318 O'Brien St. <br />South Bend, Inch. <br />SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( ADVERTISE FOR BIDS ) <br />Comes now John Grabarz and requests permission to advertise for bids <br />for demolition of property Purchased by Auditor located at 1047 <br />LaSalle Court. <br />Permission granted. <br />SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) <br />John Grabarz submitted a progress report on property located at 1302 <br />Chapin:Street,.owned by Mr. Otto Poszgay and which, according to Mr. <br />Poszgay is being sold to Mr. Jack Chambers. <br />This property has not been brought up to standard, as requested. -Mr. <br />Grabarz now requests permission to advertise for bids to demolish. <br />It was the decision of the Board to notify Mr. Poszgay and Mr. Chambers. <br />of this intention and request their q)pearance at the meeting of the'` <br />Board .on Monday, April 27, 1964. <br />With reference to property located at 321 S. Kentucky Street, Mr. <br />Grabarz informed the Board that Mr. Paul Swertley, attorney for this <br />property, had been granted an extension of four weeks when he appeared <br />before the Board in February, 1964. The extension was granted in order <br />to contact the heirs of the estate. <br />The Board ruled that Mr. Swertley be notified to make a report to the <br />Board on his progress by May 49 1964 or the property will be demolished. <br />Comes now Mr. Oddie Harris, holder of -Land Contract for property -located <br />at 1615 S. William Street and presently occupied by Mr. Jones who has <br />been buuing on Land Contract. <br />Mr. Harris advised the Board that he will be willing to finance the <br />critical electrical work and make arrangements to bring house up to <br />standard,. if he has the.he_lp of Mr. Jones in order to accomplish this. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
