April 20, 1964 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public 8-afety was held on Monday, <br />April 20k 1964 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of <br />the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />OPENING BIDS: POLICE DEPARTMENT ( ONE SEDAN.) <br />The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and `bids were <br />opened for one Four Door Sedan for the Police Department. Proofs of <br />Publication from The South Bend Tribune with affidavit signed by <br />Robert DeLong and The Tri-County News with affidavit signed by Alfred <br />W. Snyder, II were found sufficient. <br />The following,bids were received: <br />Gates Chevrolet Corp. <br />333 W. Western Ave. <br />South Bend, Ind. <br />1 - 1964 Chevrolet Biscayne 4 Door Sedan, Model 1269, with <br />119" Wheelbase, 700 x 14 tires, 195 HP V8 Engine, 283 cu.in. <br />Two speed electric wiper, OS Mirror, Power Glide, Undercoat, <br />and as per other standard specifications <br />List price <br />Less allowance for one 1963 Harley Davidson <br />Motorcycle, ser. 66EL7306 and Fed. Excise Tax <br />Net difference <br />Since Fed. Excise Tax has been allowed, this amount to <br />belong to Gates Chevrolet. <br />NOTE: This bid is predicated on the purchase of trade-in <br />by the Benton Township Police Department, and is void is <br />such purchase is not completed. <br />Certified check for $36.00 signed by F. Sparkes <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit, signed by Van E.
