316 <br />1 - 4000 lumen street light installed at 126 E. Yennsylvania <br />Avenue. <br />This installation is made upon Petition of residents of the area. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT• SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( BID FOR DEMOLITION ) <br />With reference to property located at 1610 Longley, owned by Mrs. <br />Carrie Ford, Mrs. Ford's niece, Mrs. Fulce, her brother -in -.law , <br />and Mr. Wilford Smith, of 1614 Longley, appeared before the Board. <br />The action on this property was continued until this date in order <br />to allow time to effect.a sale. <br />Mrs. Fords•niece, appearing for and on behalf of her aunt, advised <br />the Board that Mrs. Ford would not agree to a selling price that was <br />acceptable to Mr. Smith who was interested in purchasing this property. <br />Inasmuch as no agreement has been reached, it was the decision of the,. <br />Board to award the bid for demolition of this property, as follows:' <br />A_ & J Demolition Co. $295.00 retain salvage <br />318 O'Brien St. - 310.00 stack material. <br />South Bend, Ind. <br />The. bid of $295.00 was accepted. <br />SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS__). <br />Mr. John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Divisions appeared before <br />the Board with a progress report on property located .at_ 1615 .S.._ <br />William Street. <br />Mr. Grabarz reported that Mr. Robert Jones, presently living in the <br />structure, had not taken care of the immediate wiring problem as <br />directed. <br />Mr. Jones is purchasing property on Land Contract. Holders of the <br />Contract are Oddie and Mattie Harris, 1125 South Bend Avenue. <br />After hearing Mr. Grabarz concerning the hazardous condition of this <br />dwelling, it was the decision of the Board that Mr. Grabarz advertise, <br />for bids for demolition. <br />The Board further ruled that Mr. Jones be notified to vacate the premises <br />and that he shall have 30 days in which to find other living quarters. <br />At the expiration of said 30 days period, the house shall be.demolished. <br />Mr. Grabarz was requested to write to the Welfare Department concerning <br />this problem to ascertain whether this Department can assist_mr.`'Jones <br />and his family. <br />With reference to property located at 734 S. Bendix Drive, Mr. Grabarz <br />advised the Board that a dwelling formerly on this property had been <br />taken down but that the premises had not yet been cleaned up. <br />The matter was referred to Mr. DuComb. <br />Comes now Mr. and Mrs. Lee Fox, holders of Land Contract.for property <br />located at 210 S.
