F29 <br />PETITION: STREET LIGHT ( ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT <br />A Petition from residents of Roosevelt Street for a street light <br />on Roosevelt Street between Sherman Avenue and.-InglewoodPlace <br />wa,s referred to -the Electri,cal..Department for investigation and <br />recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage,Reports were accepted -and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT -;SUB-STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS <br />Comes now John C,rabarz of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building <br />Department, with reference to property located at 608 N. Hill Street. <br />Comes also Mr. Muesselt representing the title holders to the property. <br />Mr. Grabarz advised the Board that this property had been ordered to <br />be vacated which has not been done. <br />Mr. Abe Pickett is presently living at the above address. He appeared <br />before the Board and advised the Board that he has found a house to. <br />move into but not until April 27. <br />After hearing all who wished to be heard, the Board ruled that it <br />would withhold action until April 27, 1964. If premises is not <br />vacated by this date, the structure will be demolished unless owner <br />'bri.ngs,str,uctur.e-vp to standard.• <br />With.reference_to .property located at 1609.S. Franklin Street, comes <br />now Rev. Thompson who is buying property under Land Contract, and has <br />a Building Permit to bring property up to standard. The house is <br />vacant at this time. <br />Mr. Grabarz advised the Board that this, property, in its present <br />condition, is a fire hazard. The structure is vacant at this time. <br />After hearing Rev.'-Thomp_sori_who would like to bring structure up to <br />standard if he has sufficient funds to accomplish this, the Board <br />continued this hearing for one week and request that Mr. Grabarz meet <br />with Rev. Thompson and inspect the property in an effort to assist <br />the owner to salvage all or part of the structure. <br />Comes now Jefferson Ford, brother-in-law to'Mrs. Carrie Ford who is <br />the owner of property located at 1610 Longley Avenue. Also, Mrs. Ford's <br />niece appeared before the Board and a Mrs. R.A.L. Butler of 307 N. <br />Birdsell Street with Whom Mrs. Ford lives. <br />Advertisements had been placed for demolition of the structure on <br />this property since the owner could not be located. <br />The Board advised the interested parties present that a neighbor was <br />interested in purchasing this property and suggested they contact him <br />in an effort to sell the property. If it is not brought up to standard <br />it must be ordered demolished. <br />The case was: continued for two weeks t,o a.11:ow for negotiations to be <br />completed. <br />With reference to property located at 1613 S. Main Street, owned by <br />Wells Electronics, Inc., Mr. Grabarz advised the Board that this <br />property had been condemned in September, 1963 and _t4e-case had been <br />continued at the request of the attorney for the owner, Mr. Jones of <br />Jones, Obenchain, Johnson, Ford & Pankow until:,Januaxy 1,-1964. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
