March 9, 1964 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />March 9, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. fill members were present. Minutes of the <br />last regular meeting were read and approved. 'Vouchers were approved <br />and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE: FIRE DEPARTMENT ( PUMPER ). <br />Permission was given to the Fire Chief to have advertisements placed <br />in The South Re:nd_Tribune.and The Tri-C ounty.,News for o.ne_1,250 gallon <br />pumper for use of the Fire Department. <br />Sealed bids will be opened on March 30, 1964 at'10:00 A.M. <br />PERMISSION TO ATTEND CONFERENCE: (FIRE DEPARTMENT) <br />Permission was granted to Fire Chief McHenry to attend the Instructors' <br />Conference in Memphis, Tennessee on March 23, 24, 259 26 and 27, 1964. <br />Permission was also ranted- lfor the following members � • the -Fire.- <br />� <br />Department to attend the same conference for the.same period af� time: <br />Assistant Fire Chief Richard Busfield, Captain Carl B. Martz, Jr., <br />Battalion Chief William Diedrich. <br />PERMISSION TO ATTEND PISTOL CHAMPIONSHIP.MATCHES,,(iPOLICE-DEPARTMENT } <br />Permission was granted to Assistant Police Chief Thomas McNaughton <br />to accompany the Police Pistol Team as their personal representative <br />to Tampa Florida from March 61 1964,to Saturday, March 14, 1964. <br />APPLICATION: POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />An application for the Police Department from Dennis Jan Bailey was <br />accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />PERMISSION TO ATTEND ROAD SCHOOL:( TRAFFIC ENGINEER ) <br />Permission was granted Clem Hazinski, .Traffic Engineer and Gregory <br />Armstrong, Assistant Traffic Engineer, to attend the Annual Road School <br />at Purdue University March 23 through March 269 1964. <br />Sufficient funds are available in the budget for this trip. <br />PERMISSION TO ATTEND SCHOOL: ( TRAFFIC ENGINEER ) <br />Permission was granted Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, to send Captain <br />Charles Kile, assigned to Traffic Department, to Chicago on March 17, <br />1964 to attend a one day school covering the maintenance and application <br />procedures of Fischer Porter punch tape traffic counters used by the <br />Traffic Engineering Department. <br />APPROVAL OF INSTALLATIONS• (TRAFFIC SIGNS TRAFFIC ENGINEER ) <br />Following the recommendation of -Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, the <br />following installations were approved: <br />Stop Signs installed on Hildreth Street, both sides, at Clover St. <br />No Parking Signs installed to cover 202 E. Washington St. <br />Time Limit Signs installed in front of 305 N. Niles Avenue. <br />APPROVAL OF INSTALLATION• STREET LIGHT (ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ) <br />Following the recommendation of Eugene Radecki, Electrical Department <br />..S�uperint.endent, the following installation petitioned for by residents <br />of the area was approved: <br />1 - 4000 lumen street light installed at 534 S. Chicago Street. <br />
