March 9, 1964 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, March 9, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. fill members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. 'Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE: FIRE DEPARTMENT ( PUMPER ). Permission was given to the Fire Chief to have advertisements placed in The South Re:nd_Tribune.and The Tri-C ounty.,News for o.ne_1,250 gallon pumper for use of the Fire Department. Sealed bids will be opened on March 30, 1964 at'10:00 A.M. PERMISSION TO ATTEND CONFERENCE: (FIRE DEPARTMENT) Permission was granted to Fire Chief McHenry to attend the Instructors' Conference in Memphis, Tennessee on March 23, 24, 259 26 and 27, 1964. Permission was also ranted- lfor the following members � • the -Fire.- � Department to attend the same conference for the.same period af� time: Assistant Fire Chief Richard Busfield, Captain Carl B. Martz, Jr., Battalion Chief William Diedrich. PERMISSION TO ATTEND PISTOL CHAMPIONSHIP.MATCHES,,(iPOLICE-DEPARTMENT } Permission was granted to Assistant Police Chief Thomas McNaughton to accompany the Police Pistol Team as their personal representative to Tampa Florida from March 61 1964,to Saturday, March 14, 1964. APPLICATION: POLICE DEPARTMENT An application for the Police Department from Dennis Jan Bailey was accepted and ordered placed on file. PERMISSION TO ATTEND ROAD SCHOOL:( TRAFFIC ENGINEER ) Permission was granted Clem Hazinski, .Traffic Engineer and Gregory Armstrong, Assistant Traffic Engineer, to attend the Annual Road School at Purdue University March 23 through March 269 1964. Sufficient funds are available in the budget for this trip. PERMISSION TO ATTEND SCHOOL: ( TRAFFIC ENGINEER ) Permission was granted Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, to send Captain Charles Kile, assigned to Traffic Department, to Chicago on March 17, 1964 to attend a one day school covering the maintenance and application procedures of Fischer Porter punch tape traffic counters used by the Traffic Engineering Department. APPROVAL OF INSTALLATIONS• (TRAFFIC SIGNS TRAFFIC ENGINEER ) Following the recommendation of -Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, the following installations were approved: Stop Signs installed on Hildreth Street, both sides, at Clover St. No Parking Signs installed to cover 202 E. Washington St. Time Limit Signs installed in front of 305 N. Niles Avenue. APPROVAL OF INSTALLATION• STREET LIGHT (ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ) Following the recommendation of Eugene Radecki, Electrical Department ..S�uperint.endent, the following installation petitioned for by residents of the area was approved: 1 - 4000 lumen street light installed at 534 S. Chicago Street.
