9; <br />1 <br />'.J <br />PETITION: STREET LIGHT ( ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ) <br />A Petition from residents of the 900 block of S. Logan Street for <br />installation of a street light on Logan Street between Mishawaka <br />Avenue and Vine Street was submitted to the Board. <br />The Petition was referred to the Electrical Department for investigation <br />and recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on <br />file. <br />HEALTH DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVE: ( HEALTH CERTIFICATES ) <br />Mr. Stephen Molnar, representing the Health Department was present <br />at the meeting. <br />The.Board requested Mr. Molnar to request that Dr. Howe of the Board <br />of Health advising the procedure now being followed with reference <br />to food handlers and restaurant employees in lieu of a physical <br />examination. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) <br />Comes now John Grabarz, of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building <br />Department, and informs the Board that Mary and Michael Medich, <br />owners of property located at 716 E. Ohio Street had been requested <br />to appear before the Board on this date to show cause why demolition <br />orders had not been carried out. The Building is now vacant. Mr. <br />Medi.ch!s,'`sonuappeared:;for:.his father -and requested additional time. - <br />After hearing Mr. Grabarz, it was the decision of the Board that <br />the hearing be continued until March 23, 1964. If structure is <br />now up to standard by that date it will be demolished. However, it <br />was Mr. Medich's opinion that he could accomplish the demolishment <br />by March 23. <br />Mr. Grabarz submitted a letter from August Ranschaert, owner of <br />property located at 128 N. Adams Street in which Mr. Ranschaert states <br />that he is financially unable to comply with demolition order issued <br />by the Sub -Standard Division. He therefore requests that the City <br />utilize its means to demolish the dwelling and garage <br />Mr. Grabarz was directed to advertise for bids for demolition. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: HOUSE MOVE <br />Comes now Mr. Forrest West, Building Commissioner, and requests <br />permission to move a house from 921 Lincoln Way East to 229 S. Logan <br />Street. <br />In order that residents in the area be advised of the proposed house. <br />move, the matter was continued for one week and the Building Department <br />Commissioner advised to address letters to residents and submit to <br />the Board for filing. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting <br />was adjourned at 11:15 A.M. <br />.rma n <br />
