February 3, 1964 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />February 3, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of <br />the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved <br />and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />PROGRESS REPORT: REPAIR OF RAILROAD CROSSINGS NEW YORK CENTRAL SYSTEM) <br />Mr. ClemHazinski, Traffic Engineer, reported that he had received a <br />confirmation from the New York Central Railroad System that the railroad <br />crossings in need of repair as outlined in a previous report to the Board <br />would`be repaired in the spring and that the Sample Street crossing has <br />now been repaired. <br />PROPOSED MEETING WITH ALL RAILROADS <br />The Board proposed a`meeting with representatives,of.all railroads to <br />inform them of the policy of the City concerning upkeep and repairs. <br />Mr. Clem Hazinski was r.`dquested to make a survey and to arrange for a <br />meeting as soon as possible after the survey has been completed. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER (,TRAFFIC SIGN INSTALLATIONS <br />Following the recommendation of Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, the <br />following installations were approved: <br />No Parking signs installed on west side of 1200 block of South High <br />Street. <br />No Parking signs installed at 502 E. Ewing Avenue. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS) <br />Comes now John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of the <br />Building Department with Mr. Brinson, prospective buyer for proper:ty.. <br />located at 107 N. Carlisle Street. <br />Mr. Brinson had received a list of requirements from the Sub -Standard:: - <br />Division that are necessary to bring property up to standard, and <br />advised the Board that his contracbor is interested in completing the <br />work. He asked for one week's continuance to complete details. <br />The Board requested that Mr. Brinson consider repair costs carefully <br />and also advised that the contractor would be expected to furnish a <br />Performance Bond. <br />.Hearing continued for one week. <br />BIDS FOR DEMOLITION: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION <br />The following bids for demolition of property located at 734 Tiar-nock <br />Street were received: <br />A & J Demolition Co. <br />318 O'Brien St. Demolish and retain salvage $290.00 <br />Demolish and stack material 305.00 <br />-,iD. Thornton <br />1829 Randolph St. Demolition and retain salvage $400.00 <br />It appearing that the bid of A & J Demolition Company is the lowest and <br />best bid, it is now so awarded. <br />
