BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB-STAA}DARD J)JVISI.QN ( HEARINGS <br />Comes now Mrs. Addie Townsend and Mr. Ison Townsend, owners of property <br />ocatetis�t 14'.i:4 Wingt?0r�fo :hb�►_,a.s. why",;pr;pperrty„has nQ$, ;beeyn <br />brought V,tQf.6-andatd.49 ordered by : h,.O,::,$a Sta:ndard,:Divis `o .of,:thq <br />Building Depattmentw . *.Mr. nend Mrsi', Wellington :01ai6e.dA.hat-: they have <br />note had; suff.icidn funde 'tca ::bring, property .pp `t.c _; tandard. <br />A list of repairs and replacements necessary to bring property up <br />to meet Code requirements was presented to the Board by Mr. John <br />Grabarz. <br />Upon questioning, it was learned that there are eight children and <br />one adult living in the basement of this house and that the faulty <br />equipment is a hazard and must be repaired forthwith. <br />It was further learned that Mr. Townsend owns a vacant house located <br />at 129 N. Wellington which also is in need of substantial repair and <br />replacement. <br />After hearing all who wished to be heard, the.*Board directed that <br />Mr. Townsend either sell the vacant house at 129 N. Wellington and <br />use the funds to repair the house in which he is living or make some <br />arrangements so that the necessary repairs may be made. <br />Hearing continued until March 2, 1965 at which time Mr. Townsend must <br />show that he has made some progress in bringing house up to standard. <br />With reference to property located at 107 N. Carlisle Street, which <br />property has been condemned, comes now Mr. Leonard Smith, brother of <br />Mrs. Ellen Smith, one of the owners of the property. Other owners <br />are Lois and William McKee. <br />Comes also Mrs.Thomas Brinson who advised the Board that she would like <br />to buy the subject property and make necessary repairs to bring said <br />property up to standard. <br />After hearing all who wished to be heard, the Board requested that <br />Mrs. Brinson bring in estimate to bring property up to standard and <br />to bring in the person who is willing to do this work at the February <br />3rd meeting of the Board, at which time a ruling will be made by the <br />Board. <br />A letter from Mr. John L. Warrick, attorney, representing the Estate <br />of Jennie Snyder, deceased, with reference to property located at <br />1028 N. Hill Street, was submitted to the Board. <br />Mr. Warrick advised the Board that Mr. John Grabarz had requested that <br />subject property be demolished within 30 days or by February 81 1964. <br />Mr. Warrick further advised that Mr. Alfred W. Snyder, son of the <br />deceased, is the Administrator of her Estate which is now pending in <br />St. Joseph Probate Court.
