FIRE PROTECTION AGREEMENT: PORTAGE TOWNSHIP <br />A Fire Protection Agreement between The Fity of South Bend Portage <br />Township was entered into for the year 1964, effective January 2, 1964 <br />and executed by the Board. <br />A copy will be forwarded to Portage Township Trustee and one copy will <br />be placed on file in the Office of the Board. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE) <br />With reference to property located at 734 Turnock Street, A. J. Neddo <br />Estate, comes now John Grabarz, Sub -Standard Division Director, and <br />requests permission to advertise for bids for demolition. Mr. Grabarz <br />advised the Board that parties of interest have been notified and the <br />Department of Public Welfare has a lien on this property. <br />Permission granted to place advertisements to demolish,, since Harry <br />H: Sears, former Administrator of the Estate filed a letter disclaiming <br />any interest in the property and the D.P.W. having informed the Board <br />that they have no funds to repair or demolish said property, the Building <br />Department is authorized to advertise for bids to demolish said structure. <br />With reference to property located at 122 E. Ohio Street, Mr. Grabarz <br />submitted a letter from Roy L. DeRoo of West Allis, Wisansin, stating <br />that he has been authorized by the heirs of the Emma Tack estate to <br />assert that they are in no financial position to bring property up to <br />standard. <br />The letter further states that the heirs would be willing to quit their claim <br />to the property in favor of the City of South Bend and Mr. DeRoo <br />suggested that this matter be turned over to the City Attorney to prepare . <br />a Quit Claim Deed for execution. <br />The latter was referred to the City Attorney for investigation. <br />HEALTH DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVE <br />Mr. Stephen Molnar of the St. Joseph County Department. of Health was <br />present at the meeting as a representative of the Health Department. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />STREET LIGHTING REQUEST ( SOUTH BEND COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORP. - KLINE <br />SCHOOL ) <br />As a result of a letter received from Mr. Richard Wysong, Coordinator <br />for South Bend Community School Corporation, requesting additional <br />street lighting in the area of the Cline School, 1534 W. Sample Street, <br />because of adult classes in the Cline School, the Llectricai Department <br />Superintendent, Mr. Eugene Radecki, investigated this request and, <br />having checked the matter with the Indidna & Michigan Electric Company, <br />now recommends that changes and additional lighting be approved. <br />Mr. Radecki submitted a proposal from the Indiana & Michigan Electric <br />Company. <br />Following the recommendation of Mr. Radecki, and after due deliberation, <br />the proposal was "approved and the changes ordered made by the Board. <br />
