FIRE PROTECTION AGREEMENT: PORTAGE TOWNSHIP A Fire Protection Agreement between The Fity of South Bend Portage Township was entered into for the year 1964, effective January 2, 1964 and executed by the Board. A copy will be forwarded to Portage Township Trustee and one copy will be placed on file in the Office of the Board. BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE) With reference to property located at 734 Turnock Street, A. J. Neddo Estate, comes now John Grabarz, Sub -Standard Division Director, and requests permission to advertise for bids for demolition. Mr. Grabarz advised the Board that parties of interest have been notified and the Department of Public Welfare has a lien on this property. Permission granted to place advertisements to demolish,, since Harry H: Sears, former Administrator of the Estate filed a letter disclaiming any interest in the property and the D.P.W. having informed the Board that they have no funds to repair or demolish said property, the Building Department is authorized to advertise for bids to demolish said structure. With reference to property located at 122 E. Ohio Street, Mr. Grabarz submitted a letter from Roy L. DeRoo of West Allis, Wisansin, stating that he has been authorized by the heirs of the Emma Tack estate to assert that they are in no financial position to bring property up to standard. The letter further states that the heirs would be willing to quit their claim to the property in favor of the City of South Bend and Mr. DeRoo suggested that this matter be turned over to the City Attorney to prepare . a Quit Claim Deed for execution. The latter was referred to the City Attorney for investigation. HEALTH DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVE Mr. Stephen Molnar of the St. Joseph County Department. of Health was present at the meeting as a representative of the Health Department. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. STREET LIGHTING REQUEST ( SOUTH BEND COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORP. - KLINE SCHOOL ) As a result of a letter received from Mr. Richard Wysong, Coordinator for South Bend Community School Corporation, requesting additional street lighting in the area of the Cline School, 1534 W. Sample Street, because of adult classes in the Cline School, the Llectricai Department Superintendent, Mr. Eugene Radecki, investigated this request and, having checked the matter with the Indidna & Michigan Electric Company, now recommends that changes and additional lighting be approved. Mr. Radecki submitted a proposal from the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company. Following the recommendation of Mr. Radecki, and after due deliberation, the proposal was "approved and the changes ordered made by the Board.
