FIRE DEPARTMENT RETIREMENTS ( ROYTEK, PREBYS, SMITH) <br />A letter from the Firemen's Pension Board, through its President, <br />Fire Chief McHenry, advised the Board that the Pension Board had <br />acted favorably with reference to the requests for monthly service <br />pension for the following members of the Fire Department; that <br />said members were fully qualified to participate in all benefits of <br />the Pension Board as provided by law for such purposes: <br />Fireman Frank J. Roytek, Jr., <br />Anthony, H. Prebys <br />Robert J. Smith. <br />Following the recommendation of the Pension Board and the Fire Chief, <br />the Board hereby approves such retirements, effective as follows: <br />Firemen Frank J. Roytek, Jr., 7 January 1, 1964 <br />Fireman Anthony H. prebys, January 1, 1964 <br />Fireman Robert J. Smith, January 8, 1964 <br />ATTEND MEETING: FIRE DEPARTMENT ( LT. S. SCHMIDT) <br />Fire Chief McHenry request permission to send Lt. William Schmidt <br />to New Y6rk, N.Y. to attend the National Fire Protection Association <br />Sectional Committee Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting meeting on <br />January 20, 21 and 22, 1964. <br />Permission granted. <br />APPLICATIONS ( FIRE DEPARTMENT) <br />The following applications for the Fire Department were accepted <br />and ordered placed on file: <br />Richard Raymond Lesiuk, Jay Randall Ritter, Alvin Joseph Wroblewski, <br />Victor Henry Richart. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: PROMOTIONS AND DEMOTION <br />Police Chief Irvin C. Hampton submitted a list of promotions and <br />one demotion in the Police Department for the approval of the <br />Board: Said changes approved by the Board, effective January 16, 1964: <br />Cpl. Donald Cottrell, promoted to Detective Sgt. <br />Patrolman Frederick Voss, promoted to Detective Sgt. <br />Patrolman Frank Arsenault, promoted to Detective Sgt. <br />Patrolman Walter Benninghoff, promoted to Detective Sgt. <br />Patrolman Arnold Bennett, promoted to Detective Sgt. <br />Patrolman Paul Kozak, promoted to Detective Sgt. <br />Patrolman Floyd Chrapliwy, promoted to Detetective Sgt. <br />AIR of the above remain on present assignments in Detective Bureau <br />until notified otherwise by Inspector J. Horvath. <br />Patrolman Willis Shoemaker, promoted to Sergeant, remaining on present <br />assignment. <br />Patrolman Raymond Pierson, promoted to Corporal in Traffic Bureau on <br />assignments from Capt. L. Bussert. <br />Detective Sgt. Edward Nawrocki, demoted to Patrolman remaining on <br />present assignment from Captain Stachowicz, Third Detail Patrol. <br />ATTEND CONFERENCE: POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Police Chief Irvin Hampton requested permission to send Sgt. Robert <br />Miller and Lieutenant -J:-Knepper to attend the Indiana Conference of <br />Traffic Safety on January 14, 1964, held at Munster, 1fid. Permission <br />granted. <br />
