24 <br />REQUEST: FRANCES SHOP, PLANTERS <br />Mr. Harvey L`. Sanner, Jr.; Controller of the Frances Shbp, appeared <br />before the Board to request permission for the Frances Shop to place <br />two small planters on the sidewalk at each corner of their building <br />located at 225-227-229 S. Michigan Street. These planters will be <br />fifteen to eighteen inches in diameter. <br />Permission granted provided insurance indemnifying the City of <br />South Bend in the following amounts be obtained and Proof of such <br />insurance filed with the Board: $100,000 individual accident, $300,000 <br />aggregate accident and $25,000 property damage. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT= PROJECTION AND PLANTER INSTALLATION <br />Comes Now Mr. Louis Smogor, Building Commissioner, and requests <br />permission for Mr. Brinson, owner of property located at 1238-1240 <br />W. Washington Avenue to erect a 12 inch projection of step and <br />planter 33 feet x 12 x 3 ft. high. Steps will be the following <br />dimensions: 2 steps, 7 feet long. <br />The Board stipulated that insurance indemnifying the City of South <br />Bend be obtained in the following amounts: $100,000 per indvidual <br />accident, $300,000 aggregate accident and $259000 property damage. <br />Proof of Insurance must be filed in the office of the Board. <br />SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS_) <br />Comes now John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of <br />the Building Department and advises the Board that property located <br />at 320 W. Marion Street, owned by George Stark had not been torn <br />down as promised at the time an extension of time was granted. Said <br />extension has expired. Mr. Grabarz requested permission to advertise <br />for demolition bids. <br />Permission granted. <br />Mr. Grabarz requested permission to hire someone to clear away debris <br />from property located at 334 N. St. Peter Street. The debris has <br />been standing on the property since the structure was demolished some <br />time ago. Mr. Grabarz also advised the Board that his department has <br />been unable to locate the owner of the property. <br />The Board ruled that it would be permissible to have the property <br />cleared of debris, provided such intention was relayed to the owner <br />and all legal procedures are followed. Mr. Grabarz must have proof <br />that all attempts possible had been made to locate the owner of the <br />property. <br />BIDS: DEMOLITION OF PROPERTY <br />The following bids were received for demolition of property located <br />at 15262 Liston Street. The property is a PBA parcel: <br />A & J Demolition <br />B & 0 Wrecking <br />$975.00 with salvage <br />$625.00 " " <br />The bid will be awarded to B & 0 Wrecking Company for $625:.00. <br />HEALTH DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVE <br />Mr. Stephen Molnar, representative of the Health Department was <br />present at the meeting. <br />
