3 <br />September 309 1963 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on MDriday, <br />September 30, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of <br />the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved <br />and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - aUB_STANDARD DIVISION HEARINGS Z <br />Comes now Otto Pozgay, with reference to property being purchased by <br />George Jones and which is sub -standard, located at 1302 Chapin St. <br />Mr. Pozgay requested a continuance on this hearing and was granted two <br />months continuance, at which time the property must be brought up to <br />standard or it will be demolished. No more continuances will be allowed. <br />With reference to property located at 734 S. Bendix Drive, Mr. Grabarz <br />advised the Board that the owner is now entering into private contract <br />for demolishment of this structure. Said procedure is approved by the <br />Board. <br />With reference to property owned by David Harley, located at 1728 N. <br />Kaley Street, this hearing was continued for one week. <br />Comes now Mrs. Clara Winston, owner of property located at 15261 Liston <br />Street. This property has not been demolished as ordered, and Mrs. <br />Winston was directed to appear to show cause why orders had not been <br />carried out. The property is vacant, according to John Grabarz, and <br />is a problem to the neighborhood. <br />Since Mrs. Winston has no further interest in this property, it was <br />the decision of the Board for Mr. Grabarz to advertise for bids for <br />demolishment. <br />REQjgSL-MENEAL HEALTH, INC. i USE OF FIRE STATIONS ) <br />Comes now Mrs. Margaret Burnett, County Chairman of Christmas Gift <br />Program for St. Joseph County Association for Mental Health, Inc., and <br />requests the use of Fire Stations to place receptacles to hold gifts <br />d6nated to Mental Health, Inc. <br />Permission granted after it was learned that this procedure is <br />satisfactory with the Fire Chief. <br />FIRE CHIEF: ATTEND CONFERENCE <br />Permission was granted to the Fire Chief t8 attend an International Fire <br />Chief's Conference, Memphis, Tenn., from ctober 26, 1963 to November <br />1, 1963 inclusive. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER TRAFFIC SIGNS <br />Following the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer, the following <br />installations were approved: <br />30 Minute Time Limit signs installed to cover 1557 N. Ironwood Drive. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ( STREET LIGHTS ) PETITIONS; <br />Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Electrical Department <br />Superintendent, the following installations were approved. These are <br />requests by Petitions: <br />1 - 4000 lumen streetlight at Clearview 8 Scenic. <br />1 - 4000 lumen street ,14-ght -at Mayfair & Clearview. <br />
