July 8, 1963 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />Ju;y 8, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the <br />last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved <br />and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION (HEARINGgj <br />Comes now Joseph Ettl, attorney, representing Orvill and Ruth Burkett <br />with reference to property owned by them and located at 1605 Sheridan <br />Avenue. Hearing was set for today to show cause why property has not <br />been brought up to standard. <br />This hearing is now continued until October 14, 1963. <br />Comes now Irving Goldberg, 320 William Street and states that he has <br />a buyer for this property, who understands what has to be done in <br />order to bring property up to standard. <br />The Board ruled that he bring in the prospective buyer next- Monday, <br />July 15, 1963. Case continued until that date. <br />Comes now Sam Bernstein , with reference to property he owns located <br />at 1603- Prairie Avenue. <br />Mr. Bernstein informed the Board that he has..a contractor who will <br />repair property. <br />Case continued until September 23, 1963 and condemnation order held <br />until that date. <br />Comes now Noble Roy, 116 E. Pennsylvania Avenue to show cause why <br />property has not been brought up to standard. Mr. Grabarz advised <br />the Board that repair orders were issued for this property in 1962 <br />and Mr. Roy has not complied with said order. Heuse has been vacant. <br />Mr. Roy explained that he has been out of work and requested two <br />months to bring house up to standard. <br />Request granted and hearing continued until September 23, 1963. The <br />Board informed Mr. Roy that this would be the last continuance issued. <br />.Re f.ere nce.:... _ 1302- S;i: Chapi_n owned by Mr. Jones, who is> -buyi'ng ;this from Mr. <br />Pozgay, attorney, this hearing was continued until September 23, 1963. <br />The Board also ruled that this would be the last continuance allowed. <br />Mr. Grabars informed the Board that the.Return Receipt from Certified <br />mail sent to the owner of property at 525 Cottage Grove Avenue had now <br />been received, and the Board directed him to proceed with demolition <br />advertisements. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER-( TRAFFIC SIGNS <br />Following the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer, the following <br />installations were approved: <br />No Parking signs installed on each side of Gate 6 of Bendix Corp., <br />on the west side of Bendix Drive. <br />Yield sign installed on Pinhook Drive, southwest corner, at <br />Riverside Drive. <br />Stop signs installed on Eckman Street, both sides, at Main St. <br />No Parking This Side sign on Hill Street, north side, at rear of <br />1015 E.
